H (Home Region) : Anyang City, where I live, is a city where apartments, commercial facilities, and wide roads are concentrated, and there are many areas with narrow spaces between buildings. Especially around the station and near the big road, you can often feel that the air is not working well.
O (Objective & Observation) : Due to the structure in which buildings are continuously arranged, the flow of wind is blocked, resulting in a stagnation of air in which soot and fine dust remain in one place. For this reason, even in the same area, the air feels more stuffy near the road than around parks or rivers.
P (Plan) : It is proposed to install a breathing urban structure in an air-staying space. Bus stops, school walls, and shelters are designed in the form of hole structures or honeycombs through which wind can pass to create air flow. In addition, the direction of movement of the wind is marked with arrow drawings or markings so that citizens can recognize the air flow.
E (Evaluation & Evidence) : When looking at urban design cases considering building layout and wind roads, pollutants do not stay long in areas where airflow is secured. If Anyang also introduces a structure that creates airflow, it is expected to help reduce the congestion of soot and fine dust and improve the walking environment.
