Hello! My name is Murerwa kellen from Rwanda. I also participated in 25th wsj in south korea(saemangaeum). I’m in the last grade of secondary(Grade12).I study at sainte trinite de Rhng. This is me in the compound of kigali pelé stadium located in nyamirambo which hosts football matches and several teams in Rwandan premier league. So, i would like to share the moments i had there.

This is where we first dropped by in seoul where korean tourism organisation were the ones who  guided us in tour we made on that day ( we even got the chances to wear hanbok for the first time)

As it seems here, the KTO gave us an opportunity to visit Gyeongbok royal palace of joseon dynasty where it was so excited cause they even made parades wearing their traditional outfits which was so amazing

And here, we kept looking around the palace which was so adorable to know more of ancient koreans

We did even passed by statue of king sejong in Gwangwhamun located next to Gyeongbok palace( it was so interesting)

Here , it was inside blue house that the former president of south korea lived

And this was where former president Yoon suk yeol met k-pop(BTS)on 14th september 2021. And that it was also honorable to be where the famouses have met

Even here, we were very luckily to visit lotto world of seoul ( theme park) . We had so much fun there due to different activities such as Gyro swing, boat ride and swing tree and we even got a chance to be in samba’s live performance( they were so amazing)

Here , we were in buan village travelling around. And it was so relaxable cause it had better view and was so cool

As it seems here, it’s where we had reached saemangaeum camp site preparing dinner. It was great

As the days passed by, we even visited buan celadon museum and it was so great even if the weather condition was not as we predicted

On that day, we even visited an industry where they’ve showed us how to prepare kimchi. Even we tried although itwas too hard for some of us to taste it

And here , we were participating in some activities with our fellowers from lesotho and Gambia. It was so adorable

Here, we even visited koreans in their campsite . And it was favourable timing

Morever, on our way to end 25th wsj , we visited Independence hall korean museum which located in cheonan. And it was so memorable cause some korean famous artists performed for us(k-pop & new jeans& blackpink)which was so adorable and amazing

By ending, i would like to appreciate all koreans in general that did let us enter their country especially KTO,president&korean customs service&all scouts who did provided us with affection and  kindness in the days we spent there😊🙏.we are very grateful from💕🤗

    1. Hello joshua! I’m sorry for the late reply, the legal binding marriage in Rwanda is civil marriage(monogamous marriage) which allow someone to marry once in life ( from 21 years old but now it also allows someone to marry at 18th age due to sensable reason)
About scouting, the minor age to be allowed is 4years& scouting level is classified into squirrels, beavers, cubs, scouts, companions and rover scouts (it depends on the age that someone has)

  9. Hi Kellen! Thank you for the information. So if you are married once you cannot divorce and marry again? Is that what it is!? I would like to see pictures of the beavers and cubs. I have also been placed as a leader with the cubs in my local scout group.

    1. Hi again!welcome, that’s not how it is cause when you’ve submitted divorce decree, you’re allowed to marry again but that doesn’t mean that Rwandan government encourages multiple marrige but they facilitate in ecouraging monogamous marriage cause it’s the only one which is considered as civil marriage. And i’m happy for you being a leader but about the pictures, it’s not that easy to upload it.Thank you 😊😊

  17. Hello joy! I think that the most thing that we honors here is”Independence& liberation day” which occurs every 1st &4th july respectively, And it signifies Rwanda's transition from an oppressive and discriminatory regime to a democratic nation, honoring the courageous efforts of the Rwandan Patriotic Front in ending the tragic 1994 Genocide against Tutsi that occured between 7 april and 19 july( it’s around 100 days)which took us more than 1,000,000 people and the others were fled away in the neighbouring countries. That’s why it’s so meaningful to us as Rwandans

    1. Thank you for sharing. It sounds very important 🫶. How do people celebrate Independence and Liberation Day in Rwanda? Are there any special events?

      Delete
  18. The Liberation Day is celebrated by organising patriotic and cultural events such as special ceremonies&concerts while during Independence day , national flag is raised, and the national anthem is sung with pride while symbolising Rwanda's sovereignty and unity. Another is “Heroes day”which occurs each year on1st february aims at honoring the legends of the ones who played big role in stopping genocide against tutsi by making sacrifices in patriotism

    1. That’s lovely! I hope you enjoyed the celebrations.

In Kenya, we celebrate Republic Day on December 12th, commemorating our nation’s freedom. Additionally, Heroes’ Day on October 20th honours all those who contributed to Kenya’s independence struggle. It’s nice to see how different countries celebrate their history.
