Vision
In the summer of 2027, we will not welcome the young
people arriving in Seoul simply as international visitors.
We will discover one another’s interests, share meals,
understand the worlds in which each person has grown up, and become lasting
friends whose relationships continue across both online and offline spaces.
We discover the world through personal interests,
understand one another around the table,
meet in spaces of hospitality,
and expand the world through lasting connections.
What Makes the GGS Model Distinctive
Many conventional international exchange programs bring
participants together only once, before they have had the opportunity to
understand one another, and relationships often end when the event is over.
The GGS model begins by awakening curiosity about the
world. Students then learn about the food, religion, culture, and places that
have shaped the lives of their future exchange partners. They build relationships
online, meet face to face in Seoul, continue communicating online, and
eventually develop reciprocal visits.
International exchange therefore becomes not a single
event, but a complete educational journey:

1. Discovering the World Through Personal Interests
Awakening Curiosity About the World
Students discover countries and regions through familiar
interests such as food, coffee, fragrance, flowers, desserts, music, dance,
architecture, and pilgrimage.
Rather than beginning with the memorization of capitals
and population figures, the program starts with questions such as:
- Why did this food
originate in this particular region?
- Why do people
dance to this kind of music?
- How do religion and
climate shape food and architecture?
- Which countries
and cultures would I like to understand more deeply?

2. The Geographer’s Table
Understanding the World Through Shared Food
Experiences
Students encounter the countries that interest them more
deeply through food and the shared table.
By tasting representative dishes, they explore the
connections among climate, agriculture, history, religion, family culture, and
dining etiquette.
Food provides one of the most accessible and welcoming
entry points into an unfamiliar country.

3. Spaces of Hospitality and the Geography of
Hospitality
Learning How to Welcome People Who Are Different from
Us
The interest developed around the table expands into an
understanding of hospitality as both an attitude and a spatial practice.
Hospitality is more than simply being kind. It requires
understanding the environment, culture, religion, and way of life of another
person, and creating conditions in which that person can feel comfortable and
respected.

4. Safe Online International Exchange
Meeting Friends Around the World from a Classroom in
Seoul
Through the GGS Edu Platform, students meet young people
from countries and regions in which they have developed an interest.
These exchanges are not based on unrestricted contact
with unknown individuals. They are structured educational activities jointly
managed by schools, teachers, and GGS.

5. Face-to-Face Encounters in Seoul
Welcoming in Person the Friends First Met Online
In the summer of 2027, students who have already
developed relationships online will meet in person in Seoul.
They will not be welcoming complete strangers, but
friends whose names, faces, interests, and stories they already know.

6. Sustained Online International Exchange
Continuing Relationships After the Event
The 2027 meeting in Seoul is not the end of the project,
but the beginning of a new stage.
Students reconnect online, share their growth and school
experiences, and continue working on joint projects.

7. Overseas Visits and Reciprocal Hospitality
Entering the World of Our Friends
As exchanges continue, the program can develop into
reciprocal visits in which Korean students travel to the cities and schools of
their international friends.
Students who welcomed international youth in Seoul will
then experience being guests in their friends’ countries, encountering new
environments and cultures directly.

음식, 커피, 향기, 꽃, 디저트, 음악, 춤, 건축, 순례 등 자신에게 친숙한 취향을 통해 세계 여러 나라와 지역을
발견합니다.
국가의
수도와 인구를 외우기보다 다음과 같은 질문에서 출발합니다.
- 이 음식은 왜 이 지역에서 탄생했을까?
- 사람들은 왜 이 음악에 맞춰 춤을 출까?

단순히 친절하게 대하는 것이 아닙니다. 상대방이 살아온 환경과 문화,
종교와 생활방식을 이해하고 편안하게 머물 수 있도록 배려하는 것입니다.

학생들이
관심을 가진 국가의 청소년 또는 청년과 GGS 에듀 플랫폼을 통해 온라인으로 만납니다.
온라인
교류는 불특정 다수와의 자유로운 접촉이 아니라 학교와 교사, GGS가 함께 관리하는 교육활동으로 운영합니다.

이 모델의 차별성
기존
국제교류는 서로를 잘 알지 못한 채 한 번 만나고 헤어지는 경우가 많습니다.
GGS 모델은 먼저 세계에 호기심을 갖고, 상대의 음식과 종교, 문화와 장소를 이해한 뒤 온라인에서 관계를
형성합니다. 이후 서울에서 대면하고, 다시 온라인으로 교류를
이어가며, 장기적으로 상호 방문으로 발전합니다.
