Hello, my name is Donguk Kang, and I am majoring in English Education.
My given name Donguk (棟旭) is composed of the characters “Dong (棟),” meaning the ridge beam of a house, and “Uk (旭),” meaning the rising morning sun. With this name, my mother wished for me to become someone as radiant as the brilliant morning sunlight shining upon the ridge of a roof. My English name is DONGUK KANG.
I am from Iksan, Jeollabuk-do. Although it is smaller compared to other regions, it is a city with many points of pride. For instance, Iksan is famous for the Mireuksaji Stone Pagoda, which was built during the reign of King Mu of Baekje and is now designated as National Treasure No. 11. Iksan is also an agricultural city, and more recently, it gained attention for the creation of the McDonald’s Iksan Mozzarella Burger, which achieved great success.

제 고향은 전라북도 익산입니다. 다른 지역에 비하면 조금 작지만 자랑거리가 많은 지역입니다. 일단, 익산은 미륵사지 석탑으로 유명합니다. 미륵사지 석탑은 백제 무왕 시기에 건축되어 현재 국보 제11호로 지정되어 있습니다. 익산은 농업이 발달한 농업 도시로 최근에 맥도날드 익산 모짜렐라 버거를 만들어 좋은 성과를 보이기도 했습니다.
