Hello, this is Jiyeong Lee.
My name is written with the characters “Ji (知),” meaning to know, and “Yeong (泳),” meaning to swim, carrying the meaning “Swim through the world with wisdom.”
When I was in elementary school in the US, I was given the English name Ashley, and I have been using it ever since.
I was born in Suyeong-gu, Busan, and moved to Mok-dong, Seoul, when I was four years old. At the age of seven, I spent a year living in California, USA, before returning to Mok-dong, where I have lived ever since. When I first went to the United States, my English was not very good, but being directly exposed to the language sparked my interest in English and languages in general. This eventually led me to major in English Education. I spent my elementary, middle, and high school years in Yangcheon-gu and Gangseo-gu, Seoul, and these places hold many different memories for me at each stage of my life. Among them, Yongwang Mountain and Anyangcheon, which are close to my home, are especially meaningful, as I often go on walks there with my family and have created many precious memories.
안녕하세요. 저는 영어교육과 이지영입니다. 알 ‘지‘(知),헤엄칠 ‘영’(泳)을 쓰며 ‘지혜롭게 세상을 헤엄쳐 나아가라’는 뜻을 가지고 있습니다. 영어 이름은 미국에서 초등학교를 다닐 때 Ashley라고 지어서 지금까지 사용하고 있습니다.
저는 부산 수영구에서 태어나서 4살 때 서울 목동에 와서 살다가 7살에 잠깐 1년동안 미국 캘리포니아에서 거주하였으며 다시 돌아와 지금까지 목동에 살고 있습니다. 영어를 잘 하지 못할 때 미국에 가서 영어를 직접 접해보니 영어에 흥미를 느껴 언어에 관심이 많아지고 지금 현재 영어교육과에 재학중이며 초등학교, 중학교, 고등학교를 서울 양천구와 강서구에서 지내다보니 여기는 저에게 나이별로 다 다른 새로운 추억들이 많은 곳입니다. 그중에서도 집 근처에 있는 용왕산과 안양천에 가족들과 자주 산책을 다니기 때문에 더욱 더 소중한 추억이 있습니다.
