Hello, my name is Yunjin Oh, and I am majoring in Global Affairs.
I was born and raised in Uiseong, Gyeongsangbuk-do, a rural area where most residents know one another.
After graduating from elementary school in Uiseong, I went to a middle school in Andong, a nearby small city, to experience a broader world and meet more diverse people. Adapting to a new environment, I gradually felt my perspective expanding. Although I later attended high school in Gunwi, another neighboring rural area, my concerns about my future and my desire to explore a wider world have deepened. These experiences ultimately led me to study Global Affairs in Songdo, Incheon, where I continue to broaden my perspective.
Having grown up in Gyeongsangbuk-do, I prefer to visit Byeongsan Seowon in Andong whenever I feel tressed or need time for quiet reflection. Although it is not easily accessible, sitting on the wooden floor, watching the river flow by, and observing the scenery change with each season help me organize my thoughts and enjoy a sense of calm that is difficult to find in daily life.
Because of these experiences, when I visit a new region or travel to another country, I tend to study the history and geography of the city first. By learning what kinds of buildings were constructed in a particular era and how they relate to the values and mindset of local residents, I feel that I can gain a deeper understanding of the society itself. In the same sense, I am used to carefully reading the explanatory panels next to exhibits in museums.
I believe that studying history is not merely about the past, but a way to interpret the present and envision the future. Through this perspective, I aim to become someone who can understand regions, nations, and the world in a multidimensional way.

저는 경북 의성군에서 태어나고 자랐습니다. 지역 주민 대부분이 서로를 알고 지내는 환경 속에서 성장하였습니다. 초등학교 졸업 후, 보다 넓은 세상을 경험하고 다양한 사람들을 만나고 싶다는 생각으로 인근 중소도시인 안동시에 위치한 중학교로 진학하였습니다. 새로운 환경에 적응하며 제 시야가 점차 확장되는 과정을 스스로 체감할 수 있었습니다. 이후 고등학교는 다시 인근 지역인 군위군으로 진학하였으나, 진로에 대한 고민과 함께 더 넓은 세계에 대한 갈망은 더욱 커졌습니다. 이러한 경험을 바탕으로 현재는 인천 송도에서 국제학을 전공하며, 지역을 넘어 국가와 세계를 바라보는 시각을 기르고 있습니다.
저는 경북지방에서 자라며 과거와 공존하는 환경에서, 역사와 오래된 건축물에 대한 애정을 가지고 있습니다. 스트레스를 받거나 혼자만의 사색이 필요할 때면 안동에 위치한 병산서원을 찾곤 했습니다. 교통은 다소 불편하지만, 계절마다 달라지는 풍경과 서원 앞을 흐르는 강을 마루에 앉아 바라보며 생각을 정리하는 시간은 저에게 큰 의미를 지닙니다.
이러한 경험 덕분에 특정 지역이나 다른 나라를 방문할 때에도 그 도시의 역사와 지리를 먼저 공부하는 편입니다. 해당 시대에 어떤 건축물이 들어섰는지, 그것이 지역 주민들의 사고방식과 어떤 연관을 가지는지를 살펴보는 과정에서 그 사회를 더 깊이 이해할 수 있다고 느끼기 때문입니다. 박물관을 방문할 때 전시물 옆 설명 패널을 꼼꼼히 읽는 것 또한 이러한 이유에서입니다.
저는 역사를 이해하는 일이 과거에 머무는 것이 아니라, 현재를 해석하고 미래를 바라보는 하나의 창이라고 생각합니다. 이러한 관점을 바탕으로 국제학을 통해 지역과 국가, 그리고 세계를 입체적으로 이해하는 인재로 성장하고자 합니다.
