Day 1 – August 8: I finally arrived in Korea, buzzing with excitement and curiosity. Meeting the fellow GG ambassadors for the first time was such a warm and welcoming experience—we quickly felt like a team ready to explore together. Our first stop was the Boryeong Mud Festival, which was absolutely chaotic in the best way! The mud pits were messy but hilarious, and everyone was laughing as we smeared mud on each other. I tried out different festival activities, from sliding into mud pools to playful mud wrestling, and the energy of the crowd was contagious. The smell of the wet mud, the bright festival decorations, and the lively music made it an experience I’ll never forget.
After the festival, we traveled to Jokdu Island, where we stayed
in a private villa called Saghwawon. Walking into the villa felt like
stepping into a peaceful sanctuary. The surroundings were lush and green, and
the gentle sounds of nature instantly calmed me after the busy festival day.
Our rooms were cozy and modern, with scenic water views that made it feel like
a perfect escape. The villa’s serene and private atmosphere gave me a chance to
unwind and reflect on how exciting this trip was already turning out to be.
Day 2: I woke up to the breathtaking view of Muchangpo Beach, with the
morning sun glimmering on the waves and a refreshing sea breeze brushing
against my face. Standing there, I felt a sense of calm and awe—just watching
the waves, the port in the distance, and the towering structures nearby made me
appreciate Korea’s natural and urban beauty at once.
Later, we visited Ghaewa Art Park, a creative haven that perfectly
combined art, nature, and culture. At Rirris Café, the cozy décor and
aesthetic vibes made it the perfect spot for photos and relaxing with a cup of
coffee. The Mosan Museum showcased both contemporary and traditional
art, and walking through it, I felt inspired by how Korea preserves its
heritage while embracing modern creativity. The park itself was dotted with
fascinating art installations and sculptures, each corner offering a new
surprise and perfect photo opportunity. Herb Land was a peaceful
retreat, with fragrant plants and lush greenery creating a soothing atmosphere.
Wandering through the park, I felt both energized by creativity and relaxed by
nature.
In the evening, we attended a K-pop concert, which was an experience like no other. The moment the performers stepped on stage, the crowd erupted with screams and cheers. The dazzling lights, synchronized dance moves, and pulsating music made it electrifying. I remember jumping, singing along, and feeling completely immersed in the energy of the performance. Experiencing K-pop culture up close was exhilarating and absolutely unforgettable.
Day 3: We began the day at Seongjusa Temple Site, taking in the serene
and spiritual atmosphere. The intricate architecture, peaceful surroundings,
and soft sound of wind through the trees made it a perfect spot for reflection.
From there, we visited Baekunsa Temple, where we learned about Korea’s
coal mining history and how local communities had developed around it. It was
fascinating to see how history, culture, and daily life intertwined, and I felt
grateful for the chance to learn something new while traveling.
In the afternoon, we headed to Daecheon Beach for some adventure. Sky
biking above the beach was both thrilling and breathtaking—the wind rushing
past as we pedaled gave a mix of adrenaline and freedom. Then came zip
lining, which was an exhilarating experience as I soared over the sand and
water, feeling completely alive in that moment. Finally, we arrived at Bythe
Hotel, where we relaxed with cold drinks and admired the panoramic views.
The day ended perfectly with a sense of calm and satisfaction after three days
full of adventure, culture, and exploration.
By the end of these three days, I felt like I had experienced a perfect
mix of adventure, culture, relaxation, and awe. From muddy festival chaos to
serene temple visits, artistic exploration, and thrilling activities, this trip
truly captured the essence of Korea in the most unforgettable way.
