Hello,My name is Elleen Chebet, a FISU Student Ambassador season (2024-2025).
I studied Bachelor of business and information technology and specialized in information technology as my field of passion. I was born and raised in Kenya, a country that has shaped my passion for leadership, youth empowerment, and intercultural exchange. I do love traveling a lot, adventures and learning something new daily because I believe through that I get new experiences.
As a FISU Student Ambassador, I’ve had the chance to engage with global student networks, promote university sports, and contribute to international campaigns that highlight student voices and values. I have also have interacted and learn different cultures,I find it so amazing to blend with other people from different cultures and learn. This role has helped me grow as a young leader, developing communication, teamwork, and cultural understanding along the way.
Building on this experience, I had the incredible opportunity to be a volunteer at the Rhine-Ruhr FISU World University Games 2025, currently taking place here in Germany. It’s not only my first time in Europe, but also one of the most exciting and meaningful experiences of my life. It has been my first international flight and I was so excited about it.
Throughout the event, I’ve been involved in supporting various activities, collaborating with international teams, and contributing to the smooth running of this large-scale sports event. Every day has brought new challenges, learning opportunities, and the chance to connect with people from all over the world.
Germany has left a lasting impression on me,with its clean cities, efficient transport, and welcoming people. My expectations were well satisfied,I mean what I expected was definitely what I saw... sometimes the media can lie but this time was it was on point. Exploring places like Düsseldorf,Bochum, Duisburg and Hagen while representing Kenya on a global stage has been both humbling and empowering.
This experience has strengthened my confidence, adaptability, and belief in the unifying power of sport. As a proud Kenyan and FISU ambassador, I’m honored to be part of a global movement that inspires students and fosters unity across borders.
