My name is Mays, and I live in Al-Salt, Jordan. I studied English and Korean at the University of Jordan, and I graduated last year.
I am truly love learning languages because I believe they are windows into the thoughts and cultures of others. Since I was young, I have had a deep interest in Korean culture, and this was my first time wearing the traditional Korean outfit, the hanbok.
I also became very interested in translation. I participated in a Korean translation contest and won first place. I was very happy to celebrate this achievement with Dr. Lee in this photo.
I have made many unforgettable memories, especially through trying Korean food and experiencing Korean cultural activities.
My love for learning about cultures is not limited to foreign countries. Arab countries also have rich and unique cultural diversity. Each country has its own charm and identity. These photos are from my exchange program trip to Oman as part of an Arab student exchange.
Hi, I'm Nahyun from South Korea and I'm studying French language and literature at Yonsei University. As a student majoring a foreign language, I can sincerely understand how hard (but also really fun at the same time) it would've been for you to learn new languages. Actually, I've never studied Arabic or experienced traditional Arabic cultures. What made you struggle the most when learning Korean and what do you think will be the hardest part for Koreans who are trying to learn Arabic?
ReplyDeleteI hope we can soon meet at the Summer School!
Hi! My name is Jaehyun Kim from Korea.
ReplyDeleteI like your presentation about your country: Jordan.
I thought arabic languages have letters very different from other countries. I like them !
I hava a question about it, Is there an origin for these distinctive letters?
