Hello everyone! My name is Been, and I’m currently a university student in South Korea. I’m majoring in Ethics Education at Gyeongin National University of Education, where I’m preparing to become an elementary school teacher in the future. I’ve always been passionate about teaching and helping others grow, and I believe learning about ethics and values is an important part of becoming a thoughtful and responsible person. I was born in Ulsan, a city located in the southeastern part of Korea, known for its industrial history and beautiful seaside views. However, I’ve spent most of my life in Ilsan, a modern city in Gyeonggi Province, near the capital city, Seoul. Ilsan is a wonderful place to live. It’s a well-planned city with a balance of nature and urban life. One of the highlights of Ilsan is the Ilsan Lake Park, which is one of my favorite places to relax and unwind. I’ve attached a photo of the park so you can see how peaceful and beautiful it is.
This park is actually one of the largest artificial lakes in Asia. It’s surrounded by wide walking paths, colorful flower gardens, and even cultural spaces like outdoor performance stages. It’s a place where families, friends, and even solo visitors can enjoy nature, take photos, or just sit and reflect. I love going there for a walk, especially in spring when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. In addition to loving my hometown, I also have a strong interest in learning about other countries. One country that has especially captured my attention is the Maldives. Have you ever heard of it? The Maldives is a small island nation in the Indian Ocean, made up of about 1,200 coral islands, although only around 200 of them are inhabited. What fascinates me the most is the Maldives’ stunning natural environment — the clear turquoise waters, white sandy beaches, coral reefs, and the diverse marine life. It’s like a paradise on Earth! But I also admire the Maldives for more than just its beauty. The country is facing serious challenges due to climate change and rising sea levels, yet the people of the Maldives are working hard to protect their islands and their way of life. I think there’s so much we can learn from their relationship with nature and their efforts to live sustainably. One day, I hope to visit the Maldives and experience its culture and environment firsthand. I’m really excited to be here and to meet people from different parts of the world. I believe we can all learn so much from each other by sharing our stories, cultures, and dreams. Thank you for listening to my introduction! I hope we can become good friends and continue learning together. :)
