Chungcheong as One, Prepare for the Future of the Korea.
The 2027 Chungcheong Universiade is the very first global event co-hosted by four metropolitan local governments in Korea. We believe this collaborative process between the organizing committee and the hosts, which are the cities of Daejeon and Sejong, as well as Chungbuk and Chungnam provinces, will be a meaningful step toward achieving unified Chungcheong Region, the Megacity. Furthermore, through the successful hosting of the event, we promise to strive to set an exemplary precedent that will present a new paradigm for local autonomy in the Korea.
In the year of 2027, the FISU World University Games, with participation from over 150 countries, will be held in Chungcheong, the heart of Republic of Korea.
The Korean government and the four cities and provinces of the Chungcheong region have long been united with yearning to host this honorable festival of global university sports, and eventually in November 2022, we have finally achieved this goal.
We prepare the Event with an anticipation to witness the Challenges and Networking of University Students from around the World.
In August 2027, about 10,000 university athletes will visit Korea. The endeavors of the youth will become a drama, with their vigor and energy of young spirits bringing the most thrilling and indeed magnificent festival. The Organizing Committee is committed to preparing meticulously to provide environment for the athletes from around the world to fully demonstrate their abilities while experiencing the culture and dynamism of Korea.

Daejeon Metropolitan City pursues creativity, pioneering spirit, and harmony with the vision of becoming a first-rate economic city.
Surrounded by Sikjangsan Mountain to the east, Gubongsan Mountain to the west, Bomunsan Mountain to the south, and Gyejoksan Mountain to the north, Daejeon has a basin-shaped structure.
Following the inclusion of Daedeok-gun into Daejeon in 1989, the status of the city was elevated to a direct-controlled municipality consisting of five districts (gu).
In 1995, the city was renamed Daejeon Metropolitan City.
Covering an area of 539.5 km², Daejeon is divided into five administrative districts (gu) with 82 neighborhoods (dong), including Dong-gu, Jung-gu, Seo-gu, Yuseong-gu, and Daedeok-gu.
The population is 1,443,106 as of November 2023.
