My name is jainaba from the Gambia .Korea was a nice place and we enjoyed it

My name is Jainaba Ceesay and I was one on the Gambian contingents that attended the Jamboree at Korea .Korea is an amazing place and has so many beautiful cultures that I enjoyed ,the historical places and the foods were also memorable to my friends and I.

One of the days during our stay in Seoul,we visited the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ )which was a very interesting experience because it was just a story to some of us but luckily  we had the chance to visit the place .The DMZ was established in 1953 as part of the Korean Armistice Agreement between the United Nations, North Korea, and China to end the Korean War. The purpose of the DMZ is to protect both sides from attack. If North Korea was going to attack South Korea, they would have to pass through this tract of land, giving South Korea a short amount of time to alert that an attack was imminent. Additionally, this allows both sides to better prepare their defenses. We visited the tunnel as well. With the use of a telescope we had a view of North Korea 🇰🇵

Another interesting moment was when I learned about kimchi (A Korean food) and I was taught how to make it and how it came about .That was my first time of trying kimchi and I really enjoyed it .

We visited celadon museum and tried some pottery work which was my first time of doing such .

Korea paper craft is an interesting thing to do .It was the first time for my friends and I to make shoes of different designs using papers, glue and some decoration flowers 🌸

We played so many interesting games and learned a lot about Korea from our short time visit and still willing to learn more .

The Katchikally Crocodile Pool is a renowned tourist attraction in The Gambia, known for its sacred significance and the presence of Nile crocodiles. It's believed to have spiritual powers, attracting both tourists and locals seeking blessings and healing.

One mind-blowing fact about Katchikally Crocodile Pool is that despite being home to numerous crocodiles, there has never been a recorded incident of a crocodile attacking a human at the site. This unique coexistence between humans and crocodiles is a major draw for tourists visiting The Gambia. ‎

    1. The Gambia is a small West African country, approximately 11,295 square kilometers (4,361 square miles) in size. Despite its small size, it boasts a rich tapestry of cultures, with various ethnic groups such as the Mandinka, Wolof, Fula, Jola, and Serahuli.
