Professor Ajay Meena is an eminent Indian geographer and faculty member at the Central University of Rajasthan (CURAJ), a premier institution located in Northwest India. Situated in a culturally rich and geostrategically vital province near the Pakistan border, his university sits amidst the unique landscapes of the Aravalli Range and the margins of the Thar Desert. This distinctive regional backdrop has deeply influenced his academic pursuit of Human and Physical Geography, Remote Sensing, and Regional Development.

Driven by this adventurous spirit and professional dedication, Professor Meena recently traveled to Istanbul, Türkiye, to participate in the prestigious International Geographical Union (IGU) Regional Conference held at Istanbul University.
While engaging with international scholars to discuss global spatial challenges, he also actively conducted extensive field research and geographical excursions across the city. His field studies included exploring historic trade networks and spatial structures, as beautifully captured during his site visit to the iconic 17th-century Egyptian Bazaar (Spice Bazaar).
