H (Home Region)
Shindorim, where I live in Seoul, is a lively area where apartments, commercial buildings, subway stations, and roads are close together. However, because there are many people and vehicles, environmental issues such as trash, fine dust, noise, and the use of disposable items often occur. Therefore, to make Shindorim a more livable environment, I plan to directly look into the problems in our neighborhood and think about solutions.
O (Overview & Observation)
In Shindorim, during commuting hours, the air gets polluted due to the crowding of vehicles and people, and sometimes trash or signs of illegal dumping can be seen along the streets. In particular, areas around commercial buildings and subway stations have a large amount of trash due to packaged food, delivery containers, and disposable cups. By organizing these problems through photos, maps, or records from direct observation, we can identify which locations face issues more frequently and make the goals for environmental protection clearer.
P (Plan)
To address the environmental issues in Shindorim, I am planning various ideas that can be easily practiced in daily life. For example, activities like “using tumblers and shopping bags,” “creating a neighborhood trash map,” “making a recycling reminder poster,” and “promoting eco-friendly walking routes” can be considered. Also, making it in the format of a mission that can be enjoyed like a game so that friends can participate will help more people become interested in environmental protection.
E (Execute & Example)
In the execution stage, we can investigate the actual locations in Shindorim and try small practices based on the problems there. For instance, we can pick up trash around the subway station and take photos for a campaign encouraging reduced use of disposable items in commercial areas to share online. By organizing the results after acting directly, we can inform others about the necessity of environmental protection and help turn our neighborhood into a cleaner and healthier place.
