H (Home Region)
Cheolsan-dong in Gwangmyeong-si, where I live, is a densely populated residential area where reconstruction and redevelopment projects are taking place simultaneously, primarily focused on large, aging apartment complexes.
O (Objective & Observation)
Air quality is deteriorating due to the massive amounts of fugitive dust and exhaust from construction vehicles generated during large-scale demolition and excavation work. This is causing direct harm to the health and daily lives of nearby residents, including inducing respiratory diseases.
P (Plan)
I propose planting fine dust-absorbing plants and installing cooling fog systems (water mist sprayers) around the temporary fences of construction sites, introducing real-time smart fine dust monitors, and operating a 'Local Construction Site Environmental Monitoring Team' in which residents directly participate.
E (Evaluation & Evidence)
Similar to the 'IoT-based Smart Construction Site Management' implemented in places like Seocho-gu, Seoul, we can expect real-time dust reduction and rapid response effects. Ultimately, this will protect a pleasant and safe walking and living environment for residents near construction sites in Gwangmyeong-si.
