GINUE Friend : Sungjoon from Gumi to New Zealand
Hello, I'm Sungjoon Jeon. I was born in Gumi and lived for a few years when I was young, then moved to Bucheon and live until now. By traveling with my family to various regions in Korea such as Danyang, Gochang, and Busan, I increased my geographical views and expanded my views abroad by visiting Vietnam and Japan. As I became a college student, I wanted to experience more diverse worlds because I could actively use transportation. In particular, I want to visit New Zealand, which has various natural scenery while the seasons are opposite to those of Korea.

Gumi City is known as an area where beautiful natural environment and the history of industrialization in Korea coexist. At the center of it is Geumosan Mountain, a famous mountain designated as the first provincial park in Korea in 1970. Daehye Falls, which are pouring from the middle of the mountain, is a representative attraction that makes hikers forget their fatigue.In addition, Geumo Reservoir, which is widely spread under the foot of the mountain, provides citizens with a peaceful place to rest in the city center. In particular, a large urban area is formed near Geumosan Mountain, and you can see that nature and the city have developed together. As such, Geumosan Mountain has an important symbolism in understanding the identity of Gumi City and the life of its citizens beyond simple natural scenery.
구미시는 수려한 자연환경과 대한민국 산업화의 역사가 공존하는 지역으로 알려져 있습니다. 그 중심에는 1970년 국내 최초의 도립공원으로 지정된 명산인 금오산이 자리하고 있습니다. 산 중턱에서 쏟아지는 대혜폭포는 등산객들의 피로를 잊게 해주는 대표적인 명소입니다. 또한, 산자락 아래 넓게 펼쳐진 금오저수지는 시민들에게 평온한 도심 속 휴식처를 제공합니다. 특히 금오산 근처에는 시가지가 형성되어, 자연과 도시가 함께 호흡하며 발전해 온 모습을 확인할 수 있습니다. 이처럼 금오산은 단순한 자연경관을 넘어, 구미시의 정체성과 시민들의 생활 모습을 이해하는 데 중요한 상징성을 지닙니다.
