Talal and scout leaders from Oman came to Korea for 2023 World Scout Jamboree.
Scouting in Oman plays a significant role in developing the character, leadership, and civic responsibility of young people. The Oman Scouts and Guides Association, established under the patronage of the Omani government, is known for its strong emphasis on discipline, service, and environmental stewardship. Scouts in Oman actively participate in community service projects, desert survival training, coastal cleanups, and cultural preservation programs, reflecting the country’s values of cooperation, respect, and national pride.
At the 2023 World Scout Jamboree in Saemangeum, South Korea, the Omani delegation made a remarkable impression through their enthusiasm and spirit of friendship. Despite the hot weather and challenging conditions, the Omani Scouts showcased their resilience and teamwork, proudly representing their country and its culture.
They participated in global friendship activities, cultural exchange events, and exhibitions where they introduced traditional Omani attire, crafts, and dates, which attracted great interest from other international participants. Their tent at the cultural exhibition zone became a popular spot, where Scouts from around the world learned about Oman’s geography, history, and hospitality traditions.
One Omani Scout shared, “It was an honor to be part of such a diverse and inspiring event. We made new friends from every continent and showed that Oman is a peaceful and welcoming country.”
Through their participation in the 2023 Saemangeum Jamboree, the Omani Scouts not only strengthened ties with global youth but also demonstrated the essence of Scouting — unity, understanding, and the pursuit of peace across borders.
