My name is Kang Na-yeon. My English name is Sara. I am from Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province. Changwon City, the provincial capital of South Gyeongsang Province and the region's administrative and economic center, was formed in 2010 through the merger of Changwon, Masan, and Jinhae. As Korea's first planned new city, Changwon boasts a well-organized road system and a high percentage of green space, earning it the nickname "Forest City." Notably, Changwon is home to the nation's largest national industrial complex, a key hub for the machinery and manufacturing industries. A diverse array of industrial companies contribute to the local economy. Meanwhile, the former Masan area, centered around a port, boasts a vibrant fish market, Dotseom Island, and cultural and artistic activities. The former Jinhae area, a naval base, is renowned for its cherry blossoms, attracting numerous tourists each spring. These three distinct regions, harmoniously intertwined, have established Changwon as a city where nature, industry, and urban culture thrive.

Korea's four seasons are so vivid and beautiful that even a short trip can clearly experience their distinct changes, making them a major attraction. In spring, cherry blossoms and a variety of flowers fill the cities and nature, welcoming travelers with soft, warm colors. Summer is filled with vibrant festivals and azure seas, making it the perfect time to relax in cool valleys or enjoy island excursions. In autumn, Korea's signature foliage paints the mountains and roadsides in crimson and golden hues, making even a leisurely stroll in the cool weather a truly special experience. In winter, white snow blankets the cities and mountains, creating a fairytale-like landscape. Winter festivals, hot springs, and hearty Korean seasonal cuisine add to the enjoyment of travel. Korea's four seasons each present a distinctly different face, creating a unique travel destination that offers new charms no matter when you visit. The photos below are of Korea in each of the four seasons, taken by me.

I was happiest with my experience in Banff, Canada. This is because the high mountain ranges and emerald lake, which were hard to see in Korea, were very beautiful.
I will introduce the attractions of Korea and learn about the world through public diplomacy program as a GG Club Member.

<Introducing the Cherry Blossom Festival in Changwon, South Korea>
One of the most dramatic festivals to experience the beauty of spring in Korea is the Jinhae Gunhangje (Gunhangje) Festival. Every April, the southern port city of Jinhae is covered in approximately 360,000 cherry blossom trees, bathing the entire city in a blaze of pink. The beautiful cherry blossom tunnels at Gyeonghwa Station, the Romance Bridge over Yeojwacheon Stream, and the Naval Academy offer unique sights only seen during this season. The Jinhae Gunhangje Festival is more than just a place to admire the flowers; it's also a unique festival where visitors can experience the traditions and culture of the Korean Navy. Programs like the Navy Band parade, drone and fireworks shows, and the opening of the Naval Academy and naval port facilities are rarely seen anywhere else, providing a refreshing experience for many international visitors. If you're looking to stroll under cherry blossoms in the warm spring breeze and enjoy a festival that blends the unique atmosphere of a port city with Korean culture, the Jinhae Gunhangje Festival is a truly special experience.
