My name is Jinpyo Kim, and my English name is also Jinpyo Kim. In Korean, Jin means “truth” and Pyo means “to express,” giving my name the meaning of expressing one’s true character.
I come from Gyeyang-gu, Incheon, a coastal city located in the mid-western part of the Korean Peninsula and facing the West Sea. Growing up near the ocean, I was able to spend much of my childhood enjoying the sea and making joyful memories.
제 이름은 김진표입니다. 영어 이름은 Jinpyo Kim입니다. 진은 眞(참 진), 표는 標(표할 표)를 사용하며, 너의 참한 성품을 펼쳐나가라는 의미를 담고 있습니다.
저의 본가는 인천 계양구에 위치하고 있습니다. 인천은 한반도의 중서부에 위치해있으며, 서해와 접해 있다는 특징을 가진 도시입니다. 어렸을 적부터 바다를 많이 접해보며 즐거운 시간을 보냈습니다.
저는 항상 사회과 과목보다 과학과목을 선호하였습니다. 고등학교에서도 과학을 중점으로 수업을 들어, 사회 과목에 대한 경험이 거의 없습니다.
그렇기에 대학에 와서 사회과 과목을 들을 때마다, 조금은 어려워했던 것 같습니다.

In Gyeyang-gu, Incheon, cherry blossoms bloom beautifully in spring. Every year, I go to the park with my family to see the blossoms, and we always take pictures of them. When the petals fall like snow, the whole park becomes even more beautiful, and it feels like walking in a dream. The cherry blossoms make me realize how short and precious spring is, so I always enjoy the moment as much as I can.
Gyeyang Mountain has many acacia trees, so the air is filled with a nice fragrance, and various animals such as roe deer and frogs live there. Near my house, there is a restaurant famous for its gukbap. Especially, the pork backbone stew is delicious and inexpensive, so I visit there often.
인천 계양구에는 봄이 되면 벚꽃이 아름답게 핍니다. 매년 가족과 함께 공원에 벚꽃을 보러 가며, 항상 벚꽃 사진을 찍습니다. 꽃잎이 눈처럼 흩날릴 때면 공원 전체가 더욱 아름다워지고, 마치 꿈속을 걷는 듯한 기분이 듭니다. 벚꽃은 봄이 얼마나 짧고 소중한 계절인지를 깨닫게 해주어, 저는 그 순간을 늘 최대한 즐기려고 합니다.
계양산에는 아카시아 나무가 많아 향기가 가득하며, 고라니와 개구리 같은 다양한 생물이 살고 있습니다. 집 근처에는 국밥으로 유명한 식당이 있는데, 특히 뼈해장국이 맛있고 가격도 저렴해서 자주 방문합니다.
