I know that Angkor Wat in Cambodia was built in the 12th century. It is valuable enough to be called a Wonder of the World, and it is also world-famous. It is a place that I really want to go someday. Here, I was curious about what kind of architecture it would have built in Korea around the same time, so I researched it. I would like to briefly share the results.
First, I would like to introduce Goyang where I live. It is located in the northern part of Gyeonggi Province, and is close to Seoul, which you know a lot. My mother once traveled to Cambodia in her twenties. In my opinion, the most memorable thing my mother has ever seen in Cambodia is Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat in Cambodia often appears on Korean TV channels, because whenever she sees that scene, she says she has been there. Traveling to Cambodia was a very fun and meaningful experience for her.
After hearing my mother's story, I became interested in Cambodia in Southeast Asia. In the future, I want to get to know more about Cambodia in diverse fields.
