Dongtan Global High School
DGHS is a special school to cultivate global leaders. In DGHS, students learn special subjects such as international politics and international laws unlike other general high schools. All students in DGHS live in dormitories and exercise every morning. First graders do Taekwondo everyday, and second graders choose the exercise they want from sports such as badminton, fitness, and running.
After exercising, students go to school and take classes from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. After class, all students go to the prepared study room to study the desired subject or conduct club activities.
Students in DGHS travel to the U.S. and the U.K. about 10 to 11 days. It is a program aimed at improving students' language skills and international senses.
Students learn various international subjects and foreign languages, and carry out their own dreams as global leaders.
Students return home every Friday and go back to dormitories every Sunday.
To enter DGHS, students need to take a test. The exam examines what activities children want to do in DGHS and what kind of global leaders they want to grow into.
Graduating DGHS was a very precious experience for me. I learned various international subjects and I was able to learn English and Spanish a lot.
Many students in DGHS try hard to become a leader who leads the international community. They work really hard and study hard in their respective areas of interest.
