Connectography Speech for World Environment Day 2025 | Ju Ejoon (Chad) | 113
Haneul friend: Ejoon from Incheon to Chad
Chad's distinctive terrain includes the high Tibesti Mountains, in a semi-desert region that is part of the Sahara Desert. Its highest peak is Mount Emikush, 3,415-m-tall south of the mountain range. Its central part comes from volcanoes and consists of five volcanoes. Also, Tibesti means "place of mountaineering," where the Toubou tribe now lives indigenous to the Tibesti. In dry mountainous areas, the Toubou tribe lives around an oasis, where palm trees and limited grains grow.
Located in the semi-desert of the Sahara Desert, Chad is the Tibesti Mountains, with the highest peak being 3,415 meters above sea level. The mountain range is said to be composed of five volcanoes. In Tibesti, which means "the place where the mountain people live," the Tu tribe is said to be settled and living around the oasis by growing palm trees and some grains. Then, what are the ways in which people who live below these mountains live and enjoy leisure life using the characteristics of the terrain?
Among the pictures of the mountain, there seem to be not many pictures showing detailed shapes or vegetation right under the mountain, so I hope you get such a picture.

Spring has begun to come to Korea for the first time these days. However, the daily temperature difference is still large, so it is warm enough to be hot when you wear a coat during the day, but you can feel the air suddenly getting cold at night. That's why I always carry an extra coat, and sometimes it's hard to adjust to the temperature difference between day and night. I heard that the weather these days, which passes from March to May in Chad, is very hot. I don't think it's a good environment for people to live in because it is a low-latitude area close to the equator and is heavily affected by the dry climate. I heard that the northern region is a mountainous area with high daily temperature differences, and the central region is covered with sand. It is said that the southern region is a tropical climate, and it is a place where rivers and fertile land are located, making it a place to feed Chad. In addition, one of Chad's most famous things, the Lake Chad, is being severely reduced these days. I heard that the area has decreased by more than 90% compared to the 1960s. What is the perception of Chad as a whole recently? And it is said that Chad is currently participating in the activities of the Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC), participating with international organizations, and conducting projects, and I wonder if Chadian citizens are supportive and aware of this policy.
