I’ve heard that there’s a famous geyser in Iceland called Strokkur. Iceland is located on a tectonic plate boundary, so volcanic activity and earthquakes happen frequently, which is why geysers can form there. I also heard that geysers sometimes erupt at regular intervals and sometimes at irregular ones. How often does Strokkur erupt?
Also, with global warming getting worse these days, I wonder if climate change has any impact on geysers. Geysers are one of Iceland’s most famous natural features, but are they only used for tourism? Or does Iceland use them for other purposes as well?
These days, the weather in Korea is warm during the day and chilly at night. There's quite a big temperature difference between day and night, and it's expected to get extremely hot once summer arrives. Right now, it's spring in Korea, and because spring tends to be dry, wildfires often occur. Recently, wildfire damage has become a major issue, and many people are making donations to help.
Also, as global warming gets worse, summers in Korea are becoming longer and hotter. Because of this, people tend to keep the air conditioner on all the time indoors during summer. This, in turn, makes environmental problems even worse.
How’s the weather in your country?
I heard that Iceland is expanding the use of electric and alternative fuel vehicles to reduce carbon emissions. I also heard that they’re focusing on improving public transportation. Do people in Iceland actually use electric cars a lot? And what kinds of public transportation are available there? Are electric vehicles used in public transportation as well?
