Hello, I'm Jimin from Jecheon. I lived in Jecheon until high school and now I'm staying at a university in Anyang.
I am very interested in Vietnam. It is a country that I have never been to before, but people around me travel a lot and there are many tourist attractions. I want to travel to various cities such as Nha Trang, which has vast deserts, Hanoi, the capital city, Da Nang, which is famous for having the most Korean tourist attractions, and Phu Quoc, which is like a fairy tale. I really want to go and feel the heat of Southeast Asia, eat Bun Cha, wear traditional clothes, and travel.
We did a little research on carbon and plastics for Environment Day, and I did a little more research on Vietnam, which I'm interested in.

- Climate Change Response and Carbon Neutrality Goals
Zero Carbon Emission Goals 2050: At the 2021 UN conference, Vietnam said it would achieve zero carbon emissions by 2050.
Stop deforestation: We want to stop deforestation by 2030, and contribute to the expansion of carbon sinks through deforestation conservation.
Establishing a Domestic Carbon Market: In 2022, the 「Regulation on Greenhouse Gas Reduction and Ozone Layer Protection」 will be promulgated to establish a schedule for implementing greenhouse gas reduction, and the domestic carbon emission trading system will be officially introduced from 2028. Through this, companies are encouraged to actively participate in greenhouse gas reduction.
National Greenhouse Gas Reduction Target (NDC) Upgraded: We raised our existing greenhouse gas reduction targets by announcing revised and supplemented NDCs in 2020.
- Solving the Plastic Waste Problem
Marine Plastic Waste Management Goals: Vietnam is one of the countries that produces more than 3 million tons of plastic waste annually, setting up a national action plan for the management of marine plastic waste by 2030. It aims to reduce plastic waste by 50% by 2025 and 75% by 2030.
Banning Disposable Plastic: From 2025, we will ban the use of disposable plastic altogether.
Introduction of Eco-Friendly Packaging: As part of the solution to reduce plastic waste, we focus on expanding the eco-friendly packaging market, with an emphasis on replacing 100% with eco-friendly plastic bags and packaging materials by 2025.
