Hello everyone!
I’m Yun Jiyeong. I'm from South Korea, and I’d love to tell you about my hometown, Iksan.
Iksan is a charming city in Jeollabuk-do with a rich cultural and historical heritage. If you visit, make sure to try hanjeongsik, a traditional Korean meal with a variety of side dishes. It’s a delicious way to experience Korean cuisine!
Iksan is also home to fascinating historical and natural landmarks.
One of the most famous sites is the Wanggung-ri Historic Site, the remains of an ancient Baekje palace. Over 1,400 years ago, Iksan was a part of the Baekje Kingdom, one of Korea’s Three Kingdoms. The site features the iconic stone pagoda, Korea's oldest and largest, which reflects the architectural brilliance of the Baekje era.
Another wonderful place is Seodong Park, named after the legendary Prince Seodong. He later became King Mu of Baekje, and his love story with Princess Seonhwa is a cherished Korean folktale. The park is particularly beautiful in summer when the flowers bloom, symbolizing purity and beauty.
For nature lovers, Mount Mireuksan is a great spot to hike and enjoy breathtaking views of the city.
Iksan offers a mix of history, culture, and natural beauty, making it a special place to visit. I hope you can explore it someday!
Ohhhhh I really like your post !!
