Introduction to Ulsan
Let me introduce my hometown, Ulsan, a city full of charm and unique experiences!
1. Daewangam
On sunny days, Daewangam feels like a piece of Jeju Island. The coastal scenery is absolutely stunning, and there are plenty of cats living in the area. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy nature and the sea together!
2. Taehwagang National Garden
This is Ulsan’s iconic eco-park. Personally, I think it’s even more beautiful than the Han River parks! It has a lovely bamboo forest and offers breathtaking views that change with the seasons. It’s a great place for a peaceful walk.
3. Ganjeolgot
One of the first places in Korea to see the sunrise, Ganjeolgot is a famous spot to celebrate the New Year’s sunrise. It’s also a great place to visit during quieter times if you enjoy serene coastal landscapes.
Ulsan’s Economy
Ulsan is well-known for its automobile and shipbuilding industries. Have you heard of Hyundai Motor Company? There’s a massive Hyundai Motor factory here, along with the world’s largest shipyard. That’s why Ulsan is often called the “Industrial Capital of Korea.”
Symbol of Ulsan
Ulsan’s symbol is the whale! Since prehistoric times, this area has been known for its connection to whales, and there’s still a lot of heritage around it. Ulsan is also conveniently located between two famous cities, Busan and Gyeongju, making it a perfect travel destination.
