In the wake of the impact of Typhoon
'Kanun' on the 6th, which led to the dispersal of camping sites for the 2023
New Sae Man Geum World Scout Jamboree, around 4,300 members from the UK and
other countries will be staying in Incheon until the 12th. On the 9th and 10th,
about 400 Jamboree members enjoyed K-pop performances at the Golden Tulip
Incheon Airport Hotel's banquet hall and received attention.
Hundreds of Jamboree participants are also
staying at the Golden Tulip Incheon Airport Hotel & Suites. The hotel held
K-pop performances at its banquet hall over two days on the 9th and 10th,
according to the hotel.
These performances were arranged to comfort
and encourage youth members who had to leave the New Sae Man Geum World Scout
Jamboree early due to lack of preparation and heatwaves from August 1st to
12th. Artists such as Choi Hyun-jun, Dou, Lee & I, PM, and Garlic joined
in. Approximately 100 members attended on the 9th and 300 members on the 10th.
Youth members who watched the performances
expressed that their previously difficult hearts were healed, shedding tears of
gratitude. One member, celebrating their mother's birthday, was moved to tears
when everyone sang a congratulatory song together.
This event was sponsored by the Incheon
Tourism Association Jung-gu Branch (Chairman Ham Hee-kyung), Golden Tulip
Incheon Airport Hotel & Suites (CEO Lee Chung-hwan), and Incheon Newspaper
(CEO Nam Ik-hee).
Ham Hee-kyung, Chairman of the Incheon
Tourism Association Jung-gu Branch, stated that as a mother raising children of
the same age, she felt fulfilled and happy to see the participating youth
enjoying themselves. She expressed hope that such experiences could turn crises
into opportunities, promoting Incheon and ultimately South Korea's culture and
tourism.
The Incheon Tourism Association Jung-gu
Branch exerts positive influence by sponsoring activities such as promoting
tourism in Yeongjong International City, stimulating the economy in the Incheon
Airport area, and supporting marginalized neighbors in the region.
Moreover, to support the members, 'Gyeongju
Shiwonbang Yeongjong Branch (Representative Jong-sun Park)' and 'Yeongjong
Bakery (Representative Ki-ho Jung)' donated bread to introduce Korean culture
and encourage the youth participants through food. Even local small business
owners voluntarily supported the national event.
Furthermore, in addition to K-pop
performances, Kim Na-yoon, the director who volunteered her Zumba dance talent,
and two others performed joyfully seeing the youth members enjoying themselves.
The participation of Happy Cosmo Gonzalez Lee (Lee Seung-joo) as a simultaneous
interpreter volunteer also enriched the performance. Many local figures rushed
in to participate, making the event even more meaningful.

ReplyDeleteI would like to apologize as a Korean for the inadequate preparation of the event. However, I hope that your time in Korea has been filled with happy memories.
