I asked a mentor from Lebanon about K-pop.
They told me that while K-pop is not widely known in Lebanon,
they were genuinely surprised to see a few children and parents at Gymboree
who were already quite familiar with it.
At the same time, they clearly mentioned that these people are still a minority.
That conversation sparked a simple idea:
What if I tried to introduce K-pop to a Lebanese audience in a more approachable way?
That is how this post came to life.
For those who are new to K-pop,
jumping straight into idol groups and music charts
can feel unfamiliar or distant.
Instead, I believe story-driven content is one of the most natural ways
to introduce K-pop culture.

다만, 이런 경우는 아직 소수(minority) 에 해당한다고 솔직하게 이야기해 주셨습니다. 그 말을 듣고 나니 자연스럽게 이런 생각이 들었습니다.
“그렇다면, 레바논 사람들에게 K-pop을 소개하는 글을 한 번 써보면 어떨까?”
그래서 이 글을 준비하게 되었습니다.
K-pop을 처음 접하는 사람들에게 단순히 아이돌 그룹이나 음악 이야기만 꺼내는 것은 조금 낯설 수 있습니다. 그래서 저는 이야기와 콘텐츠를 통해 K-pop 문화를 소개하는 방식이 가장 자연스럽다고 생각했고, 그 예로 떠오른 작품이 바로

Education in Lebanon for Ages 8–13: What I Learned by Asking
Recently, I became curious about the education system in Lebanon, especially for children between the ages of 8 and 13.
After asking directly and learning more about it, I found the structure quite interesting and decided to share what I discovered here.
Education in Lebanon for this age group is generally organized into two main systems, with the majority of schools following a French-style education model.
#1 The French-Style Education System
Lebanon has strong historical ties with France, and this influence is clearly reflected in its education system. Many schools follow a French-based curriculum, where French is often the primary language of instruction.
This system places a strong emphasis on:
- Logical and structured thinking, especially in mathematics and science
- Analytical skills in humanities and social studies
Because it aligns closely with the French and European education framework, this system can be particularly beneficial for students who may later consider studying in France or other French-speaking countries.
#2 English-Based / International Education System
The second system is the English-based or international education model. Schools in this category typically use English as the main language of instruction and may follow American or international curricula.
While this system is gradually gaining popularity, it still represents a smaller portion compared to French-style schools in Lebanon.

One of the most striking aspects of education in Lebanon is its multilingual environment. From an early age, students usually learn:
- Arabic
- Along with either French or English
This early exposure to multiple languages helps students develop strong communication skills and a global mindset.

최근 레바논의 교육 시스템에 대해 궁금해져서,
8–13세 아이들은 어떤 방식으로 교육을 받는지 직접 질문해 보았습니다.
그 과정에서 알게 된 내용이 생각보다 흥미로워, 이렇게 정리해 공유해 보려고 합니다.
레바논의 해당 연령대 교육은 크게 두 가지 시스템으로 나뉘어 운영되고 있다고 합니다.
그리고 그중 대부분의 학교가 프랑스식(French-style) 교육 시스템을 따르고 있다는 점이 인상적이었습니다.
#1 프랑스식 교육 시스템 (French-style system)
레바논은 역사적으로 프랑스와 깊은 관계를 맺어왔고, 그 영향이 교육 전반에 남아 있습니다.

이 시스템에서는

두 번째는 영어를 기반으로 한 국제식 교육 시스템입니다.
미국식 또는 국제 커리큘럼을 따르는 학교들이 여기에 포함되며,
수업은 주로 영어로 진행됩니다.
최근 들어 관심과 수요가 점차 늘고 있지만,
전체 비중으로 보면 여전히 프랑스식 교육을 따르는 학교가 더 많은 편이라고 합니다.
