Hi everyone, my name is Diana Barasa, and i have always loved sports. I started with football back in secondary school, like so many of us do in Africa, because football is everywhere from the school fields to the community pitches. It’s the sport that really shaped me and gave me my first taste of teamwork and competition.
When I joined university, I came across something totally different: "Lacrosse." It’s not a sport many people know here, but I gave it a try and ended up enjoying it so much that it became a part of me. Lacrosse is fast, fun, and very new on our continent, and I like that I get to be among the people introducing it.
Both football and lacrosse have given me amazing opportunities, and one of my proudest moments was winning a bronze medal at the All Africa University Games. For me, football is my home sport, and lacrosse is my adventure sport together, they tell the story of my journey as an athlete.
