GINUE FRIEND : Moon Chan-Woong introduces his hometown, Yeongju 👍
Hello, my name is Moon Chan-woong, and I am from Yeongju City, located in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, South Korea. Yeongju is a beautiful city known for its historical sites like Buseoksa Temple and Sosu Seowon, where traditional Korean culture is well-preserved.
Located in the middle of Bonghwangsan Mountain, Buseoksa Temple was the place where Uisang Ambassador Uisang carried out his great teachings in honor of the king in the 16th year of King Munmu of Silla (676).
Muryangsujeon Hall is the central building of Buseoksa Temple and houses the Amita Buddha statue, which symbolizes the Pure Land of Paradise. It was built during the reign of King Munmu of Silla (ruled between 661 and 681).
In the 37th year of King Jungjong (1542), Punggi-gun County Joo Se-bung established a shrine to hold a memorial service for Anhyang, and in the 38th year of King Jungjong (1543), it was called Baegun-dongseowon while educating Confucian scholars.
In the 5th year of King Myeongjong (1550), at the request of Yi Hwang, Punggi-gun County, it was received as 'Susangseowon' and received public approval and support from the country.
Sobaeksan Mountain is a mountain that spans Yeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Danyang-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, Korea, and has been a spiritual city along with Taebaeksan Mountain from an early age.
It was considered a famous place for feng shui because it was a mountain without Samjae, and was also mentioned as one of the ten scenic spots that could avoid disease and famine in the Joseon Dynasty.
