Jamboree participants from various countries enjoyed experiencing
Korea's representative cultural facilities supported by the Ministry of
Culture, Sports and Tourism.
At the Blue House, including around 800 British Scout members, as well
as participants from Denmark and Norway, visited. In May, in celebration of its
first anniversary of opening, the Blue House installed additional facilities
such as artificial mist sprayers, parasols, and water dispensers to create a
comfortable environment for tourists to visit even during the ongoing heatwave.
Jamboree participants engaged in programs at the National Museum of
Korea, the representative museum of South Korea, including guided tours in
English and hands-on activities such as pottery making. At the National Folk
Museum of Korea, they experienced wearing old school uniforms and taking photos
in a recreated outdoor exhibition area representing the streets of Korea in the
1970s and 1980s, as well as alley games.
The "Welcome Jamboree Shuttle Bus," operated by the Seoul
Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Tourism Foundation from the 9th to the
12th and 13th, received a great response. The circular shuttle bus connecting
major tourist sites from Seoul Plaza operated free of charge every 20 minutes.
The main route included Seoul City Hall Plaza, Kyobo Bookstore, Gyeongbokgung
Palace, Insadong, Changdeokgung Palace, Starbucks in Daehakro, Changgyeonggung
Palace, and the Blue House, taking a total of 50 minutes.
A Seoul Tourism Foundation official explained, "We designed the
route considering tourist resources highly preferred by foreign tourists in
easily accessible downtown Seoul, starting from the Seoul Welcome Center
established in front of Seoul Plaza." They further added, "About 320
members from Italy, the United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, Australia, the
United Kingdom, the Philippines, Austria, Russia, and other countries boarded
the bus."
