Here are photos from Austin.
We had another experience with the korean traditional wear when we visited Imsil Cheese village for our post Jamboree activity |
Us making Gochujang and Tteok-bokki with the Portuguese scouts |
Our hosts from Sunchang Gochujang Village took us to try their korean traditional wear. The Hanbok |
My arrival at the jamboree site |
The first scout group we interacted with at the jamboree were the Taiwanese scouts |
At our Hiking activity during the jamboree, we made a stop at a building and wrote on some memory tiles. I wrote the name of the scout group I was from within my country because they are very special to me. |
Hi Austin! You look really good in Korean traditional wear. What was it like wearing it?
ReplyDeleteHi Joy. Thank you for the compliment. Honestly it was really fun. I felt like a princess and I couldnt stop twirling. The entire experience was nice. We got to dress up and explore for about an hour or two. We visited these beautiful building and monuments and we ate some wonderful snacks
DeleteIt sounds like you had an amazing time!
DeleteHow did you find the flavors of the Korean dishes you made, like Gochujang and Tteok-bokki?
Hi Austin! Dis you walk for a hour with the dress or was it just a try out?
ReplyDeleteWe actually walked around and took pictures for about an hour in the Hanboks
Deletegood :)
ReplyDeleteHi Austin! How did Korean foods taste?
ReplyDeleteIt was interesting. My favorite meal was bibimbap and we tried this tuna at the jamboree that I absolutely loved. What's your favorite meal?
DeleteWhat was the most delicious Korean food you've ever had, Austin?
ReplyDeleteThe most delicious for me would be bibimbap and we tried these noodles in a dark sauce, although i don't know it's name. I also tried Roti bun at one of our stops and I ate about 5, so it's safe to say that I really enjoyed those as well. What's the most delicious Korean food you have tried? Also, where are you from and what's your favorite national dish?
DeleteHi Joy. Honestly the dishes were surprisingly sweet and not as spicy as I thought they were going to be. It tasted really good and I even tried fish cake and enjoyed it, I did not expect that though but I was a welcomed surprise. Did you get to try tteokbokki? Or even the gochujang paste? I know the paste especially goes with many dishes
ReplyDeleteIt's great to hear you enjoyed the Korean dishes. I haven't had the chance to try tteokbokki or gochujang paste yet, but they're definitely on my list if I ever get a chance to try them in the future.
DeleteHi Joy. I do recommend them and I'm also looking forward to your review. The gochujang paste of itself is often served as a side so there's a possibility you mighty have tried it without knowing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recommendation! It's interesting to think I might have already had a taste without knowing 😅. I'll definitely try them when I get the chance. It’s great to hear you enjoyed them!
DeleteHi Joy. I'm looking forward to your review when you do get a chance to try them. Also did you get to try kimchi? If so what ate your thoughts on the dish?
ReplyDeleteI found the kimchi way too spicy 😂. I don’t think I would be willing to try it again. How did you find it?
DeleteI actually took a liking to it. I didn't like it when it was fermented too long because it is extra potent, but I did enjoy the taste. As for tteok bokki and gochujang they are both spicy as well so I'm not sure you would enjoy it after all, but you'll let me know what you think if you try it
ReplyDeleteGood to hear you enjoyed kimchi! I might give it another shot with a milder version someday. I'll keep your advice in mind if I decide to give tteok bokki and gochujang a taste. I doubt I will, though, sounds like I won't be able to handle the spice.😅
DeleteHi Joy. With the tteok bokki you can control the amount of spice so I think you'll be able to adjust it to your liking
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip! I'll keep that in mind if I ever decide to try tteok bokki. 😊
