  2. Hiiiii Jaewon, I’m Renata and I’m from Mexico, yeah“ día de muertos” it’s so interesting, the festival takes place on 1 and 2 of November every year.
This festival symbolizes the return of the dead people for one night, and it’s for all the families remember to the dead people and feel closer to them.
It’s very emotional and so colorful, some people dress as “ Catrinas” and make great and big decorations

Also one of the things that we do and it’s so important is put an “ofrenda” ( for the dead people ), regularly pepople put “ofrendas “ at home, this consist put photos of family members sometimes including pets ( not all the families put photos) the favorite food of deceased, water, salt, candles, and “cempasúchil” flowers, those flowers symbolize the form to find the way to their houses and families, we also use as decoration “ papel picado “ it’s very pretty and colorful, this consist of pieces of paper (and especial one ) whit different forms, if you want to see a photo of papel picado you can go to my blog and in the last photo, appears all the way down, hanging on wooden sticks

    1. Hi Renata! 😅I am not from French Guiana, but Suriname. French Guiana is our neighbor to the east and can be reached by boat. You sit about 15 minutes before you get to the shore of French Guiana. My grandfather is buried there and I have many families there. Hence I go there during the dia de los muertos period.
