I was born on February 2, 2005, in Suncheon, and I have lived there ever since. When I turned twenty, I was admitted to Gyeongin National University of Education, which marked the beginning of my life in Incheon. Now, I live in a dormitory at the Gyeonggi campus located in Anyang. In the future, I hope to travel to many.
저는 2005년 2월 2일에 순천에서 태어나서 계속 순천에서 살아오고 있습니다. 스무살이 되어서는 경인교육대학교에 입학하여 인천에서의 생활이 시작되었고 지금은 안양에 있는 경기캠퍼스로 와서 기숙사에서 살고 있습니다. 앞으로 미국, 이탈리아, 스위스 등 여러가지 멋진 풍경을 볼 수 있는 여행지에 많이 여행 가고싶습니다.
Colorado Education, United States
In the second week of the theory of geography textbooks, I was able to hear about the world. Among them, I was interested in the United States, so I researched Colorado education in the United States that influenced the Korean curriculum.
The U.S. curriculum emphasized life-centered education aimed at cultivating practical citizens. In this trend, the Colorado State Curriculum was developed in 1942, and this curriculum was characterized by integrating several subjects centering on social studies. History and geography were independent subjects, but the Colorado curriculum integrated them into one area called "social studies." When I talk about my department at Gyeongin University of Education now, I thought that the social studies department seems to be related to this. The Colorado curriculum aimed not to simply convey knowledge, but to cultivate the ability and citizenship to solve life problems. In addition, it is evaluated that the integrated social studies structure, which is the basic framework of Korean social studies education, was formed through the influence of the U.S. curriculum.
미국 콜로라도 교육
지리교재론 2주차 강의로 전세계에 대한 이야기를 들어볼 수 있었다. 저는 그 중에서도 미국에 관심이 있었기 때문에 한국의 교육과정에 영향을 준 미국의 콜로라도 교육에 대해서 조사를 해보았습니다.
미국 교육과정은 실천적 시민을 양성하는 것을 목표로 하는 생활 중심 교육을 강조하였다. 이러한 흐름 속에서 1942년 콜로라도 주 교육과정이 개발되었으며, 이 교육과정은 사회과를 중심으로 여러 교과를 통합하려는 특징을 가지고 있었다. 역사, 지리 등이 각각 독립된 교과였지만, 콜로라도 교육과정에서는 이를 “사회과(social studies)”라는 하나의 영역으로 통합하였다. 지금 경인교육대학교에서도 내가 속해 있는 학과를 말할 때 사회과교육과(social studies)라고 하는 것도 이것과 연관되어 있는 것 같다는 생각이 들었다. 콜로라도 교육과정은 단순한 지식 전달이 아니라 생활 문제 해결 능력과 시민성 함양을 목표로 하였다. 그리고, 한국 사회과 교육의 기본 틀인 통합 사회과 구조는 이러한 미국 교육과정의 영향을 통해 형성되었다고 평가된다.
