The scent I chose was one that represented the Puglia Ostuni region of Italy. The region of Puglia in Italy has a Mediterranean climate with plenty of sunshine and mild winters. In keeping with the characteristics of this weather, the fragrance description includes phrases such as “the moment warm sunlight gently settles between the alleyways of Ostuni,” “under the seeping sunlight,” and “a gentle breeze.” The main scent, yuzu, conveys the warm and gentle feeling unique to a Mediterranean climate the moment you smell it. In addition, this scent makes you imagine the scent that seems to float and the scenery that seems to be visible as you pass through Ostuni Alley. I have always been very interested in scents and like perfumes. I found it fascinating that scent can express the feeling and appearance of a specific space, and it made me want to learn more about this. Furthermore, I think it is very meaningful that the sense of smell can even evoke memories of a place.
내가 선택한 향은 이탈리아의 Puglia Ostuni 지역을 표현하는 향이었다. 이탈리아 폴리아 주는 지중해성 기후로 햇살이 많고 겨울에도 온화한 편이다. 이러한 날씨의 특성에 맞게 이 향의 설명란에는 “오스투니의 골목길 사이로 따스한 햇살이 사뿐히 내려앉는 순간”, “스며드는 햇살 아래”, “살랑거리는 바람” 등의 문장이 표현되어 있다. 주 향인 유자향은 딱 맡았을 때 지중해성 기후만의 따스하고 온화한 느낌을 전해준다. 또한, 이 향은 오스투니 골목길을 지나갈 때에 날 듯한 향기와 보일 듯한 풍경이 상상되게 한다. 나는 평상시에 향에 대해 관심이 많아 향수도 좋아하는데, 향으로 이렇게 특정 공간의 느낌과 모습을 표현할 수 있다는 것이 신기했고 이에 대해 더 알아보고 싶다는 생각을 하게 되었다. 더 나아가 후각을 통해서 한 장소에서의 추억까지 상기시킬 수도 있다는 것은 굉장히 의미 있는 것이라 생각한다.
Today, the fragrance I was assigned was called “Je t’aime.” At first, I chose it because the illustration on the scent strip looked like something out of a fairy tale, but I was surprised to find that it smelled exactly like the perfume I usually use. After class, I looked it up and found that my perfume has the same notes: mandarin orange as the top note, peony and rose as the middle notes, and white musk as the base note—exactly the same as the scent strip.
The fragrance “Je t’aime” is said to represent the scent of Montmartre Hill in Paris. The description on the scent strip reads: “Following the gentle spring breeze carrying the scent of peony, you slowly walk along, and the sweet conversations of lovers in front of the ‘I Love You Wall’ softly spread through the air, tickling the tip of your nose. In that moment, forgotten pure emotions from the past come back to life, and the fluttering excitement of first love makes your heart beat once again.”
Whenever I travel abroad, I like to buy a perfume at the duty-free shop and wear it throughout the trip, so I can remember that country and journey through its scent. After reading the description, I started to think that I would like to visit France wearing this fragrance, experience it there in person, and remember France through this scent.
오늘 내가 맡은 향은 ‘쥬뗌므’라는 향이다. 처음에는 시향지의 그림이 동화 속처럼 예뻐서 고르게 되었는데 내가 평소에 쓰는 향수 향이랑 똑같아서 신기했다. 수업 끝나고 찾아보니 내가 쓰는 향수도 탑 노트는 만다린 오렌지, 미들 노트는 피오니와 로즈, 베이스 노트는 화이트 머스크로 시향지와 노트가 다 똑같았다.
‘쥬뗌므’ 라는 향은 파리의 몽마르트 언덕에서의 향이라고 한다. 시향지에서는 “피오니 향을 담은 포근한 봄바람을 따라 천천히 발걸음을 옮기고 사랑해 벽 앞에서의 연인들의 달콤한 이야기들은 잔잔한 바람에 서서히 퍼져나가 코 끝을 간지럽히며 그 순간, 잊고 있던 과거의 순수한 감정이 새록새록 되살아나며 첫사랑의 설렘이 다시금 심장이 울려온다.” 라는 문장으로 ‘쥬뗌므’의 향을 설명한다.
나는 해외여행을 갈 때 항상 면세점에서 향수를 사서 여행하는 동안 뿌리고 그 향으로 나라와 여행을 기억하는 것을 좋아한다. 시향지의 글을 읽어보니 이 향수를 뿌리고 프랑스에 놀러가 직접 프랑스에서 이 향을 느끼고 프랑스를 이 향으로 기억해보고 싶다는 생각도 하게 되었다.

On the morning of Seychelles, which begins under a clear and clear sky, the cobalt sea glitters, and the pure white sandy beach glows under the soft sunlight. As the sun rises, the island is filled with the energy of new life, and the fresh scent of lime warms all beings. At the moment of sunset, the night sky and the sea harmonize to complete a beautiful landscape and transform it into a calm and peaceful atmosphere.
Seychelles is an island and archipelago nation of 155 islands located in eastern Africa's Indian Ocean. Victoria, the capital and largest city, is 1500 km east of mainland Africa, and neighboring island countries and territories include the Maldives, Comoros, and Madagascar.
Seychelles is the smallest and least populated African country in Africa.
Seychelles has many famous seas because it is an island country, and Angst Rajio is the most famous sea among them. Ans Razio is located on the northwestern coast of Praline Island, in the serene port of Chvalier Bay, and has a coastline stretching over 400 m.
Lush tropical plants and lush hills sit on the sides, and towering palm trees and Takamaka trees line the coast, providing tourists with shade to escape the hot sun. The beach features a shallow entrance with a gentle slope to the deeper ocean. The beach is decorated with soft white sand, making it a leisurely stroll.
Smelling this scent with perfume would naturally overlap the morning on the beach of Anse Lazio in Seychelles
The freshness of lemon, bergamot, and lime spreading at the first moment is like an early morning breeze brushing against the beach. It feels like waking up the tip of your nose clearly as the sun slowly rises as the sun hits the cooled air throughout the night. Neroli and Marigold are likely to express the waves shining in the sun and the reverberation of flowers blooming on the edge of the beach.
In a little while, jasmine and cyclamen will come to the center. This seems to resemble the calm beauty of Angst Razio.
The last remaining black amber and musk, betiver and cedarwood are likely to remind me of the beach after the sun has risen enough. I think it's a deep, long-lasting reverberation rather than glamorous.
This scent is likely to flow like a day by Angst Razio. It starts fresh and opens gently, eventually leaving a calm and tranquil memory. I think this perfume can be a perfume in which the sea and sunlight, flowers and trees are in quiet harmony.

울창한 열대 식물과 무성한 언덕이 측면에 자리잡고 있고, 우뚝 솟은 야자수와 타카마카 나무가 해안을 따라 늘어서 있어 관광객들에게 뜨거운 태양을 피할 수 있는 그늘을 제공한다. 해변은 더 깊은 바다로 향하는 완만한 경사와 함께 얕은 입구가 특징이다. 해안은 부드러운 백사장으로 장식되어 있어 여유로운 산책코스가 된다.
이 향을 향수로 뿌려서 맡으면 세이셸의 앙스 라지오(Anse Lazio) 해변의 아침이 자연스럽게 겹쳐질 것 같다.
첫 순간에 퍼지는 레몬과 베르가못, 라임의 상큼함은 해변을 스치는 이른 아침 바람 같다. 밤새 식어 있던 공기 위로 햇살이 닿으며 천천히 온도가 올라가는 그 찰나, 코끝을 맑게 깨우는 느낌이다. 네롤리와 메리골드는 햇빛에 반짝이는 물결과 해변 가장자리에 피어 있는 꽃들의 잔향을 표현해 줄 것 같다.
조금 시간이 지나면 자스민과 사이클라멘이 중심으로 올라올 것이다. 이것은 앙스 라지오 특유의 차분한 아름다움을 닮은 것 같다.
마지막에 남는 블랙 앰버와 머스크, 베티버, 시더우드는 해가 충분히 떠오른 뒤의 해변을 떠올리게 할 것 같다. 화려하기보다는 깊고, 오래 머무르는 잔향이라고 생각한다.
이 향은 앙스 라지오의 하루처럼 흐를 것 같다. 상쾌하게 시작해 부드럽게 열리고, 결국엔 고요하고 평온한 기억으로 남는다. 이 향수는 바다와 햇빛, 꽃과 나무가 조용히 조화를 이루는 향수가 될 수 있다고 생각한다.

The noisy sounds of the city during rush hour gradually fade away, and the scent of tuberose gently spreads, filling the space in a calm and tranquil atmosphere.
Beyond the wide window, Burj Khalifa reflects the brilliance of the city as it shines brightly, offering a sense of endless possibility and inspiration.
As the name “Burj Royal” suggests, this fragrance is inspired by the United Arab Emirates, especially Dubai.
The word “Burj” comes from Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world.

Dubai is one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates and is its largest city. Although some people mistakenly think that Dubai is an independent country, the capital of the UAE is actually Abu Dhabi.
Despite being a city that has gained global attention due to its rapid development in the 21st century, Dubai’s population is only about 3 million. However, because it is connected with nearby cities such as Sharjah, which has a population of about 1.4 million, and Ajman, with around 300,000 people, the actual metropolitan population is much larger.
In contrast, Abu Dhabi, which is both a rival city and the second-largest city in the country, is located quite far from Dubai. It takes about an hour and a half to drive across the vast desert to reach Abu Dhabi.
The Burj Khalifa, which rises dramatically into the sky in the photo, is the tallest building in the world. It is not only a masterpiece of advanced engineering but also a symbolic landmark of Dubai.

This design is inspired by traditional Islamic architecture, enhancing both the building’s beauty and structural stability. 두바이는 21세기 들어 급속한 발전을 통하여 세계적으로 많은 주목을 받은 도시답지 않게 인구가 300만 정도로 적어 보이지만, 두바이 동북쪽에 위치한 인구 140만의 샤르자와 인구 30만 가량인 아지만과의 도시연담화가 이루어졌기 때문에 실제 도시권 인구는 그 이상이다.
다만 라이벌이자 국내 두 번째 규모의 도시인 아부다비와는 상당히 멀리 떨어져있다. 드넓은 사막을 건너 대략 1시간 반 정도 주행해야 아부다비가 나타난다.

The scent of orchids, violets, lilies, and roses was used as a middle note.

In the last class, I had a time to smell the scent of Paris, and as I smelled it, I became more curious about Europe where I would go. I didn't usually have many opportunities to try various perfumes, but as I smelled the scent that other friends would choose, I thought that there would be a scent that would go well with each place. When I travel to many countries in the future, I thought that I would like to choose and spray the scent that goes well with the tourist destination and the country and remember the memories of the place with the scent.
저번 수업에서 파리의 향을 맡아보는 시간을 가졌었는데 그 향을 맡으면서 내가 가게될 유럽이 더욱 궁금해졌다. 평소에 다양한 향수를 시향해볼 기회가 많이 없었는데 다른 친구들이 고를 향을 맡아보면서 장소마다 어울리는 향이 있을 것이라는 생각이 들었다. 앞으로 많은 나라를 여행하게 될 때 여유가 된다면 그 관광지와 나라의 어울리는 향을 골라서 뿌리고 다니며 향으로 장소의 추억을 기억해보고 싶다는 생각이 들었다.

The Scent of Cherry Blossoms and Kyoto
The scent I chose is cherry blossom, and it reminded me of the spring in Kyoto.
Among many types of flowers, cherry blossoms are my favorite. Their soft and delicate fragrance gently stimulates my senses and gives me a pleasant feeling. Through this assignment, I searched for places where cherry blossom scents are strongly associated, and I came across Kyoto in Japan.
Kyoto has a temperate climate with four distinct seasons, and it is especially famous for its beautiful streets filled with cherry blossoms in spring. Whenever I smell cherry blossom fragrance in Korea, I feel as if I am walking along the streets of Kyoto, surrounded by blooming flowers.
I actually visited Kyoto when I was 22 years old in spring, and the scent I experienced there came back to me vividly while doing this assignment. If I have a chance to visit Kyoto again, I would like to be more conscious of the cherry blossom scent as I walk through the city.
Recently, I heard that cherry blossom-flavored beer is sold in Japan, which I find very interesting. The idea that beer can carry the scent of cherry blossoms feels unique, and I would like to try it someday.

난 꽃중에서 특히 벚꽃을 좋아한다.
은은한게 나는 향과 향기로움이 내 코를 자극하기 때문이다. 이번 과제 덕분에 벚꽃향이 많이 나는 지역을 조사해 보았더니 교토의 봄을 찾을 수 있었다.
교토는 사계절이 뚜렷한 온대기후 성격으로 봄철 벚꽃이 만개해 거리가 예쁜 것으로 유명하다. 한국에서 벚꽃 향을 맡을때 마다 향기로운 꽃향기에 더해 교토의 거리를 걷는 듯한 기분이 들었다. 22살 봄에 교토를 갔었었는데 이때 맡았던 냄새가 새록새록 기억이 났다. 앞으로 교토를 방문할 기회가 된다면 벚꽃향을 의식 하면서 거리를 활보해 보고 싶다. 또 요즘에는 벚꽃향이 나는 비어를 일본에서 판다고 들었는데 이 음료 또한 먹어보고 싶다.
맥주에서 벚꽃향이 난다는거 자체가 엄청 신기한 것 같다.

I chose Redwood National Park because of its unique geographical and climatic appeal.
First, its geographical location along the Pacific coast creates a spectacular landscape of the world's tallest trees. The climatic feature of "thick fog," formed by the meeting of moist coastal air and mountainous terrain, acts as a lifeline providing moisture to the trees while wrapping the entire forest in a mystical, dreamy atmosphere.
The sense of leisure and serenity (Yuyu-jajuck) I feel in these woods calms my mind and gives me a true sense of freedom, which is why I chose this specific scent of Redwood National Park.

우선, 이곳은 태평양 연안을 따라 길게 뻗은 지리적 요건 덕분에 세상에서 가장 키가 큰 나무들이 숲을 이루는 장관을 선사합니다. 해안가의 습한 공기와 산맥의 지형이 만나 형성된 기후적 특징인 '짙은 안개'는 나무들에게 수분을 공급하는 생명줄이자, 숲 전체를 신비롭고 몽환적인 분위기로 감싸 안습니다. 그리고 숲에서 즐기는 유유자적함은 저의 마음을 편안하게 해주며 여유롭게 만들어주기 때문에 이 레드우드 국립공원의 향을 골랐습니다.

The streetlights flicker softly, creating a calm atmosphere, while the pale moonlight illuminating the streets gently embraces the sanctuary, evoking a sense of solemnity. In this moment, Lourdes offers a special experience, as if time has stopped, captivating the hearts of those who are there.
The scent I chose is Lourdes. The image of a damp European street at night made me feel as though I had become the protagonist of a French literary work, which drew my interest and led me to choose this fragrance. After researching Lourdes further, I learned that it is a small city located in the Hautes-Pyrénées region in southwestern France, and it became an important Catholic pilgrimage site following the Marian apparition experienced by Bernadette Soubirous in 1858. Today, it is a religious tourism city visited by pilgrims from all over the world due to its miraculous spring water and sacred sites.

제가 선택한 향은 루르드입니다. 그림 속의 축축한 밤유럽 길거리의 모습이 마치 제가 프랑스 문학 작품의 주인공이 된 것 같은 기분을 불러일으켜 관심을 가지게 되어 이 향을 선택하였습니다. 루르드에 대해 더 조사해보니, 루르드는 프랑스 남서부 오트피레네 지역에 위치한 작은 도시이고, 1858년 베르나데트 수비루의 성모 발현 사건으로 가톨릭교의 중요한 성지라고 합니다. 또한 현재는 기적의 샘물과 성지로 인해 전 세계 순례객이 방문하는 종교 관광 도시입니다.

The reason I chose this scent is that the scenery of the sea and waves in the photo felt vivid, as if blue paint had been splashed onto a canvas, and the gentle breeze toward the beach brought me coolness and freshness. As you fully enjoy the tranquility of the sea at Cefalu Beach, the day will feel too short, yet you will find yourself surrendering once again to the beauty of nature.
