El Salvador scout leader, Mike Mendoza came to Korea to attend the 2023 World Scout Jamboree which was held in South Korea.
On August 8, the City of Anyang established a Task Force (TF) led by Deputy Mayor Jang Young-geun to provide comprehensive support for the Jamboree participants. The city offered accommodation, organized cultural programs, provided interpreters, and ensured thorough health and sanitation management. In cooperation with private companies, accommodations were arranged at Hyundai Engineering’s Anyang Bluemonte and the Hyosung Human Resources Development Center, where participants also enjoyed diverse cultural programs.
Starting with a visit to Seoulland on August 9, the Scouts participated in various activities, including:

A tour of the Gwacheon National Science Museum

A visit to the Hyosung Anyang Factory

Tours of the Kim Chung-up Museum of Architecture and the Anyang Museum

An indoor ice-skating experience at the Anyang Sports Complex

Soap and hand cream making workshops

Traditional games and crafts experiences

A K-pop dance class
Throughout their stay, the City of Anyang provided on-site medical assistance, daily hygiene inspections, disinfection services, and food safety checks. Interpreters and support staff were deployed to assist the team, and a 24-hour emergency communication system was maintained in cooperation with the police and fire departments to ensure participant safety.
During the departure ceremony and K-pop concert held on August 11, Anyang City officials and police officers accompanied the Scouts and assisted them in returning safely to their accommodations.
On the same day, H.E. Jaime José López Badía, Ambassador of El Salvador to Korea, visited Anyang Bluemonte, where the El Salvador Scouts were staying, and met with Deputy Mayor Jang Young-geun. He expressed his deep appreciation to the City of Anyang, local companies, and volunteers for their generous hospitality and support.
