My Journey Through Indoor and Beach Volleyball
My volleyball story began back in 2015 while I was still in primary school. At the time, I didn’t know that a simple introduction to the sport would later grow into such a big part of my life.
In high school, I played indoor volleyball, and that’s where my passion for the game really took shape. Indoor volleyball is played on a hard court, with six players on each side. Every position has its role—whether it’s setting, blocking, spiking, or defending—and teamwork is the heartbeat of the game. The pace is fast, the rallies are powerful, and every point feels like a battle.
When I joined campus, I continued with indoor volleyball but soon discovered something new: beach volleyball. At first, it felt very different. Unlike the six-player indoor game, beach volleyball is played on sand with just two players on each team. That means there’s no hiding—you have to serve, set, attack, block, and defend all in the same game. It’s more physically demanding because of the sand, but it also feels more free, with the open sky above and the waves sometimes just a few steps away. That challenge quickly grew into love, and it’s why I still play beach volleyball to date.
Through the years, I’ve had the chance to compete in several tournaments, reaching all the way to the national level. These experiences not only tested my skills but also taught me resilience, teamwork, and discipline.
One of the highlights of my journey came in Germany, where I volunteered in the area of beach volleyball. Being behind the scenes gave me a new perspective on the sport, and I got to watch some unforgettable matches. The energy was electric, and the competition fierce—Germany took home the overall victory, followed by Switzerland and the Netherlands.
