Hi, I'm Mirriam Inutu Libati, a Banking and Finance student at Copperbelt University in Zambia. As an active member of the Zambian University Sports Federation (ZUSA), I've learned the value of teamwork and sports in shaping strong individuals and communities.
When I'm not hitting the books, I'm in the gym, pushing my limits with CrossFit and weightlifting. I'm passionate about sports and teamwork, believing they promote camaraderie, discipline, and healthy lifestyles. I'm excited to balance my finance career aspirations with staying active and engaged in my community.
Zambia's motto, 'One Zambia, One Nation,' highlights the importance of unity and inclusivity. Our country offers a diverse range of sports, promoting fitness and health for all ages. My sports journey, ongoing since 2019, has been a dynamic experience. At university, I started athletics (2023-2025) and discovered FISU through Ambassador Moffat Mwandila. Through FISU, I've gained valuable insights into university sports, learning to balance academics and athletics. I also joined the Copperbelt University Premier League (CPL) as media personnel, developing my social management skills and confidence in public speaking. FISU's programs, like the FISU student Ambassadors programme including the Springboard program and online webinars, have expanded my network and knowledge. Notably, I conducted online aerobics sessions and implemented action plans like the "Let's Get Fit" campaign and the Volunteers Academy. These experiences taught me that sports extends beyond the field.
In 2024, I embarked on a new path with CrossFit and weightlifting, discovering the importance of physical fitness and self-care. This journey has been exciting, and I'm eager to continue exploring sports' impact on our lives.
