Ms. Mi-Jin Ko, Senior Public Affairs Officer at the Embassy of Canada to the Republic of Korea, introduced the special ties between Canada and Korea from various perspectives at the GG Summer School held in July 2025 at Schofield Hall, Seoul National University. The lecture was particularly meaningful as it took place at Schofield Hall itself, the very venue hosting this year’s Summer School.
She revisited, from a historical perspective, the contributions of Canadians to Korea, including Dr. Schofield, and also explained the background behind figure skating gold medalist Yuna Kim’s feature in a special edition of National Geographic Canada.
