Our idea
We think the most crucial issue is recycling.
A talking trashcan
-If the trashcan could talk it can tell people that the trash doesn't belong here. I would surprise people and help them build better habits.
-If the trash is not well trashed it can sense that trash someone throws, and put it back to the person who trashed it.
Our plan
we would like to spread awareness about trash recycling which is one of the most common problems in the indifferent world.
Our idea💡
To save our earth we should reduce food wastes and unnecessary food consumption.
-A program that alerts you when food in the refrigerator is about to expire can prevent food from being thrown away.
-Also we can use programs called food bank which helps those food can be consumed. We can register these foods to a food bank to share them with neighbors in our community and consume them together.
Our plans📝
-we thought that we can surely enroll this programs. So, we are going to make this programs and test this program!
1. Introduction
Definition: Responsible Consumption and Production refers to the overall selective actions considering environmental and ethical elements.
Goal: People try to pursue an organized lifestyle which reduces general amount of waste, utilizes natural resources sustainably and efficiently.

Necessity of sustainable development: Though our planet Earth has provided us with an abundance of natural resources, we have not utilized them responsibly and currently consume far beyond what our planet can provide. Therefore, it is essential to learn how to use and produce in sustainable ways that will reverse the harm that we have inflicted on the planet.
Current pattern of consumption and production: Overconsumption, overproduction, large amounts of disposable products, unsustainable agriculture, energy inefficiency, inequitable distribution of resources
3. The targets
Implement the 10-year sustainable consumption and production framework
Sustainable management and use of natural resources
Have global per capital food waste
Responsible management of chemicals and waste
Substantially reduce waste generation
Encourage companies to adopt sustainable practices and sustainability reporting
Promote sustainable public procurement practices
Promote universal understanding of sustainable lifestyles
Support developing countries’ scientific and technological capacity for sustainable consumption and production
Develop and implement tools to monitor sustainable tourism
Remove market distortions that encourage wasteful consumption
4. Current events
Programs of international governments:
Sweden: Circular Economy Initiatives (recycling)
South Korea: Green Growth Strategy (promotes energy efficiency, waste reduction, and the use of renewable energy sources)
Taiwan: Taiwan in My Eyes 120h (educational program about SDGs)
Hardships and limits: Financial/technological constraints, lack of awareness and education, policy/regulatory challenges
5. Conclusion
As a global citizens and students, we should be aware of the SDGs 17, of course, doing something small but meaningful things, such as buying what I can afford and fully utilize.

Hi,I am Elleen from Kenya and I really interested in connecting with your school
ReplyDeleteWow, your idea for a talking trashcan is really creative! I love how it not only warns people but also gives them a sense of responsibility by “returning” trash that’s not properly recycled. It’s a fun and interactive way to teach better habits.
ReplyDeleteI’m from South Africa, and I also work on turning trash into sustainable agriculture, so I understand how important recycling can be for the environment. One suggestion could be to think about how the trashcan talks—maybe it could use sounds, lights, or even a screen with messages. Also, you could plan a way to spread this idea in schools or communities to make it even more effective.
Hello! 🌍 My name is Aksu Aktoprak, and I’m a high school student from Azerbaijan.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading all your introductions and learning about Imae Middle School 🏫.
Your SDG 12 project is amazing 💡. The talking trashcan idea sounds both fun and effective — I can imagine it surprising people and making them think twice before throwing trash in the wrong bin! 🗑️
I also love your idea of a program that alerts people when their food is about to expire. It’s such a smart way to reduce waste and help people share food through community food banks. 🍎
I think you’re showing how small actions can lead to big change 🌱. Your creativity and teamwork are truly inspiring!
It makes me want to meet you all one day so we can share more ideas and learn about each other’s countries, cultures, and traditions 🗺️.
Hello Ijae Shin. I'm so happy to hear about the eagerness to learn new languages from a 15 year old pupil. Learning languages can be am advantage if you like travelling around the globe. I hope you learn some of the languages online or using duolingo app. I was lucky to learn the basics of a number of languages. In my country our native language is siswati, more like Zulu language that is spoken is South Africa, because my country is landlocked by South Africa. In grade 8, 9 amd 10 I learned French. I know some French basics. Going to Russia also made me learn Russia. I can make some few phrases in Russian and understand a lot from people speaking in Russian. I'm also speaking English as my native language. I also know some few words in Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese. It's so sad that I developed love with languages late in life. Because you're stoll young, good luck on learning those languages. Please do learn some zulu words so that we chat in Zulu when you visit Eswatini 😀
