The journey continues.
From Seoul to the world,

from connection to change.
Project Title
: Connecting Global Youth Through Geography, Environment, and Action
In October 2025, the world gathered in Seoul for one of the most inspiring youth events of the year: the IFWY 2025 Final Conference.
Hosted jointly by United Nations Research Institute for Social Development, MBC, Hanyang University, and the Eunpyeong-gu Office, the conference brought together young leaders from around the globe under the theme:
“Connect for Change.”
Over 27,000 young people from 161 countries participated online and offline throughout the IFWY journey, culminating in the Seoul Final Conference held from October 27–29, 2025.
After four months of regional conferences across Latin America, Asia, Africa, North America, Europe, and Korea, 150 youth representatives gathered in Seoul to share ideas, build friendships, and discuss the future of our world.
One of the most meaningful moments of the conference was the announcement of the “IFWY 2025 Eunpyeong Declaration.”
The declaration proposed nine major global recommendations for the international community toward 2030, including:
- Reimagining education for peace and technological capacity
- Institutionalizing youth participation in global governance
- Strengthening climate action and social innovation through global green solidarity
- Establishing youth economic inclusion funds
- Expanding global peace and dialogue infrastructure
The conference journey itself symbolized connection between cultures and values. Participants began at Hanyang University, experienced traditional Buddhist communal dining at Jingwansa Temple, and concluded the forum in Eunpyeong, where global discussions met local community spirit.
According to Mayor Kim Mi-kyung:
“A small local beginning has become a promise to the world, and returned to Eunpyeong as a completed journey.”
A New Opportunity: GG Ambassador Program
Inspired by the spirit of IFWY 2025, the Great Geographic Society (GGS) is now preparing a new international youth initiative.
GGS plans to invite outstanding international participants from the IFWY 2025 Seoul Conference to join the Seeds of Change Contest starting from June 5 2026 and participate in ongoing online international exchange programs with Korean students and young leaders.
Participants who demonstrate:

- global curiosity,
- environmental awareness,
- intercultural communication,
- and consistent contribution to the GGS platform
may be selected as GG Ambassadors 2026.
Selected ambassadors will receive opportunities for:
- continued international networking,

Beyond One Event
At GGS, we believe that international exchange should not end after a single conference.
Real global citizenship grows through:
- long-term dialogue,
- shared learning,
- environmental responsibility,
- and meaningful collaboration across borders.
The IFWY 2025 experience showed that young people are ready to connect beyond nationality, language, and geography.
Now, the next step is to transform those connections into lasting action.
GGS hopes to build a platform where young people from around the world can continue learning together, discussing global challenges, and creating practical ideas for a more sustainable future.
