My name is Lerato Mashala, and I grew up in a township called Tembisa in South Africa. It’s a lively community, full of culture, music, and strong traditions. I attended Zitikeni Secondary School, a place that shaped my journey and gave me unforgettable memories.
Zitikeni is more than a school — it is a family. Learners are supported not only in academics, but also in developing their unique talents and discovering who they are. The teachers are passionate about guiding us toward success, and the school environment is filled with energy, determination, and hope for the future.
Our school life is exciting because of the many activities we take part in. Sports like soccer, netball, volleyball, and athletics bring the whole community together, while cultural programs such as debate, drama, poetry, and traditional dance allow us to share our creativity and African heritage with pride.
What makes Zitikeni special is the spirit of resilience and unity among its learners. Many of us come from humble beginnings, but our school gives us the strength to dream big and rise above challenges.
For visitors from Korea — or anywhere in the world — Zitikeni offers a chance to experience the warmth of South African hospitality and the vibrancy of our youth. You would see students who are eager to learn, open to cultural exchange, and proud to share their traditions with others. A visit here is not just about education — it’s about friendship, inspiration, and seeing how young people in Tembisa are building their future with passion and pride.
Tembisa has certainly produced a fine young ambassador in you! 💥🇿🇦
