Plitvice Lakes National Parkwas established in 1949. In 1979, it became the first natural site to be inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is located in the Dinaric Alps region of north-central Croatia and covers an area of approximately 296.8 km².
2)
How did the limestone topography of Plitvice Lakes National Park affect the formation of lakes and waterfalls?
3) What are the characteristics of the karst topography in this area?
4) How are the lakes connected to each other in Plitvice Lakes National Park geographically structured?
5) Can you explain the process by which limestone topography such as dams are formed in terraced lakes formed by limestone precipitation?
1) Recent weather in Korea
As of March and April 2025, the weather in Korea was somewhat more variable than usual, and showed the characteristic of rapid temperature rise. In particular, abnormal temperature phenomenon and precipitation patterns were noted.
In terms of temperature, the beginning of March was somewhat chilly, but from mid-March onwards, the temperature was higher than average. Spring came early, with the daytime temperature in Seoul rising to around 15 degrees.
In terms of precipitation, the number of days with precipitation was at the average level, but when it fell, a large amount was concentrated. In addition, there was an unusually heavy snowfall in March this year.
As March is spring in Korea, fine dust frequently appeared, and yellow dust was also observed intermittently. In April, the weather in Korea continued to be warmer than average overall. There were days when the daytime high temperature rose to the mid-20s, and in some areas, heat reminiscent of early summer was detected. In the case of precipitation, spring rain fell intermittently, but overall, there was a high risk of forest fires due to the dry weather.
Others: Cherry blossoms bloomed 3-5 days earlier than usual, and in some areas, the blooming and full blooming periods overlapped, making the flower viewing season feel short.
2) Expanding discussion on climate change
As such, this year's climate in Korea showed an increase in winter temperatures compared to previous years, and there were many days when winter temperatures in Seoul and the metropolitan area remained above 0 degrees Celsius, and it also became common for rain to fall instead of snow.
Early arrival of spring: The blooming period of spring flowers such as cherry blossoms and forsythia is trending forward every year, which is a sign that spring is starting earlier and earlier.
Longer summers and increased frequency of heat waves: Last summer, heat waves with high temperatures exceeding 35 degrees Celsius frequently occurred throughout the country, and in some cases, the heat continued into early fall.
This temperature change is not a simple seasonal fluctuation, but should be understood as part of larger environmental issues such as global warming and climate change. In particular, as the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere (especially CO₂, methane, etc.) has increased rapidly since industrialization worldwide, the average global temperature has been continuously rising.
3) Croatia's environmental policy and questions
According to the 'Comparative Analysis Study on Major Countries's Post-2020 Greenhouse Gas Reduction Goals (Oh Jin-gyu)', Croatia, as an EU member state, is participating in the EU's common goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by at least 40% by 2030 compared to 1990. This goal is mainly planned to be achieved through domestic policies and measures.
Question: Through research, I found out that Croatia is participating in the EU's greenhouse gas reduction. If so, can you tell me about the specific other policies and how it plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 40% by 2030 compared to 1990?
Hello, my name is Ji-hyuk Kang, and I am a 2nd-year student at Incheon Haneul High School. I love basketball and enjoy developing teamwork and a spirit of challenge through sports. I have a great interest in Croatia. I enjoy exploring countries with diverse cultures and histories, and I am particularly eager to learn about Croatia’s food, traditions, and famous figures. With this interest in mind, I decided to participate in Connectography. Through this program, I hope to gain a deeper understanding of Croatia, experience its culture firsthand, and broaden my perspective. Additionally, I look forward to exchanging ideas and collaborating with other participants to make this experience even more meaningful. I am excited about the upcoming activities and will do my best to engage with passion. Thank you! 😊

Hi,the research about Croatia is good I also learnt form the video.I am also an athlete and love sports
