World Scout Jamboree members expressed great satisfaction with the
support provided by Yongin City, businesses, and citizens for their daily lives
and various cultural experiences.
The city prepared accommodation for Jam Berry members at 15 locations
including corporate training centers and schools in Yongin. Each accommodation
facility has assigned staff responsible for overseeing the members' meals,
sleeping arrangements, and accompanying them in experiential activities,
actively supporting their daily routines within close proximity.
Local businesses also extended their helping hands to the Jam Berry
members. The National Agricultural Cooperative Federation Yongin Branch
provided 5,400 sandwiches and beverages, while the Global Village Protection
Workshop donated 2,000 sandwiches and 1,000 cookies. Seven E-Mart stores in the
area also provided ice-cold water to help the weary members beat the heat.
To encourage and support the Jam Berry members from Taiwan, Yang
Guangzhong, the head of the Taiwan-Korea Representative Office, visited the
Global Campus of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Mohyeon-eup. He
expressed special gratitude to Hwang Jung-gi, Yongin City's Vice Mayor for
Safety, who was checking the safety of the accommodations on the 9th.
The Taiwanese Jam Berry members presented traditional Taiwanese folk
songs and applause songs, providing a special performance.
Yang Guangzhong remarked, "Meeting the cheerful Taiwanese members
puts my mind at ease. I am grateful for Yongin City's comprehensive support to
ensure the safety of the members."
Vice Mayor Hwang Jung-gi expressed his hopes for the members to make
unforgettable memories and experience diverse encounters, feeling the beauty of
Yongin and the warmth of Korea even after returning to their home countries. He
assured that the city would spare no effort in providing support for safety,
hygiene, and overall convenience during their stay in Yongin.
