GG Summer School Leadership Eco-Camp
Theme: "Endangered Species, K-Pioneers, Space"
Fierce
territorial wars are not only taking place in Ukraine and the Gaza Strip. As
the US-China hegemony competition over the dominance of space development
accelerates, life forms around the world are suffering from abnormal climate
and rapid environmental changes. The Great Geographic Society, in collaboration
with Seoul National University Graduate School of Environmental Studies, the
Geographical Imagination Research Institute (GIRI), the Future Unification
Center in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province under the Ministry of Unification,
Gyeongin National University of Education, and Korea National University of
Education, has organized the GG Summer School program.
"Draw your dream on the world map!"
GG
Summer School, which presents a new paradigm of career guidance, offers career
guidance from world-renowned scholars in the fields of K-pioneers and space
industries, special lectures from experts in various fields, lunch with mentors
experienced in career guidance, learner-centered environmental
education/ecological experience activities, and connectography practice to save
endangered species in over 150 countries through online platform exchanges
between Korean middle/high school students and foreign youth. The program is
both educational and fun.

expeditions/ecological experiences)

1-4: Seoul National University (Special lectures and career guidance based
on questions from students who have read the recommended books)

5-7: Ecological experience for all ages (Gyeonggi Yeoncheon DMZ/Future
Unification Center)

7-9: Cheonan, Chungnam → Jeonbuk → Jeonnam → Gyeongnam → Busan (Ecology/Unification
bus tour)

10-12: Ecological experience activities and geographical education campaigns
across the country

campaigns utilizing a shared platform and Social Medias by youth worldwide

Guidance for Space Pioneers: Book talks and the latest technology trends from NASA,
space agency experts, and the author of "The Space Economy," as well
as entrepreneurs leading the K-space industry

Live
Broadcast:
The GG Summer School career guidance special lectures and book talks held at
Seoul National University from August 1-4 will be broadcast live for
simultaneous access/viewing by youth from over 150 countries and Korean
students, with highlight videos to be uploaded on Umji TV YouTube channel.
Selection Criteria for On-Site Participants at Seoul
National University (Approx. 100 students):

Students
who have read the books written by special lecturers and can ask creative
questions
•
Participants
in the GGS international exchange/world geography platform (Preference given to
GG Friends 1st-3rd term participants)

Applicants
for the summer school who are members of the GGS Great Geographic Society, ‘Umji(Thumbs
up) Club’
