My name is Woojae Hong. I'm a third-year student at Gyeongin National University of Education. I'd like to tell you about a fun trip I recently took.I went to Okinawa, Japan with a friend from my club, and it was memorable because it was my first time visiting a subtropical region. Pink pineapples were famous there, and since the area has limestone terrain, sweet potatoes became a staple food, so many desserts were made from purple sweet potatoes. Since Okinawa is an island, I thought fish would be a common dish, but surprisingly, that wasn’t the case. I heard that fish from subtropical regions aren’t very tasty, which was unexpected. However, the fish were beautiful. I tried scuba diving and got a close look at the sea with its sea turtles, colorful fish, and vibrant coral reefs. It was memorable because it was a place where I had new experiences.
